I am receiving crashes whilst playing fallout 4 on PC. They occur about every 15 minutes. They start with the screen freezing but the current audio continues to play (eg background noise, if dialogue is occurring it starts to loop etc), then the audio begins to glitch. The only solution I have found is to hit the reset button on my PC. I have tried all of the online solutions such as updating graphics and audio drivers, running in full screen border less etc. Any help with solving these crashes would be amazing as they are making the game unplayable.

My PC falls well within the recommended specs for Fallout 4.

To run a DxDiag report follow the steps below:

1. If you are running Windows Vista or higher go to your task bar.
2. Click on, "Start Button".
3. Click on, "Run".
4. In the pop-up window enter DxDiag and hit ok.
5. The DirectX Diagnostic Tool pop-up window should appear.
6. Click on, "Save all information".

Since OP didn't reply with the info needed, I will. I am having the exact same issue, and would rather not junk up the forum with a bunch of unsolved duplicates.

I should also note this is a brand new pc I just finished building, and the first thing I did was install the very newest driver for my r9 380, and fallout 4. so this isn't an issue of registry entries from older graphics drivers.

All other games that I have tried work fine for hours.

You installed your game on D drive? Probably run out of memory. Your available paging pretty low too. Alot of your other games like wither3, Dishonored, etc have memory leak too. The next time your fallout 4 crashes, check your available memory and paging size by running a command prompt and enter the 'systeminfo | findstr Memory'.

If its memory, you can try to free up your physical memory (check what process is hogging ur RAM) and increase your virtual memory (there are threads on how to increase virtual memory).

I'll second the Page File increase. I was crashing, without the freezing when I first started to play but after increasing my (C: drive) PF they stopped. I set mine to 4096MB. It's the only PF with multiple drives.

Not having a go at you personally, just saying in general...

My system more than meets the requirements for minimum & recommended hardware/software and upon installing "shiny new" win10 pro x64 with all available updates from MS themselves + all the latest drivers for my new hardware, in other words - a completely fresh install of everything but I have 16GB system ram & 4GB Vram on my vga & I still get CTD frequently in this game... this is only playing in full screen mode at 1920x1080.

This piece of entertainment code, commonly known as FO4, needs another official patch for PC, or and its a big "or" a major hardware vendor needs there drivers refined to cope with 64bit build of MS newest and shiniest OS... aka win10! honestly, these things should work at plain or standard criteria 'out of the box' without users coming on to these forums and complaining all the time like myself and others here...

i just bought fallout 4 and launched it the menu screen booted up and I tried to start a new game after a minute of loading the game freezes on the loading screen and crashes bringing me to my desktop. My laptop then says the display driver stopped responding and recovered.

There is so much crap hardware released on the PC its not funny.

The only reason why the console market exists is because of the PC isn't as Plug-and-Play as maybe it should be.

Cheap integrated graphics shouldn't exist (except for niche markets, and it should be clearly noted). 'Entry level' graphics chipset shouldn't exist. On-package integrated graphics is BS, especially on higher tier CPUs. I don't need integrated graphics on my i7 6700K. Remove it and put more CPU cores or more cache. Switchable graphics is a complete and absolute nightmare. If you want a 'gaming' laptop you don't care of power usage. Even with discrete graphics chipset, you can downclock it during idle/2d. I don't get it.
