Compared to FO 1, 2, 3, or NV. The MQ is better than FO 3, but went backwards in options, choices and consequences, evil, etc. Even then the MQ boils down to "who do you want to kill?" So much for ever thinking you could play a game diplomatically.
1. the buggy mess? You blame that on Bethesderp, not Obsidian.
2. Talking crap about animation? Blame that on Gamebryo engine, not the devs (Obsidian or Bethesda). In fact, Obsidian did more with it with the collapsing building in LR (that's not much compared to modders, but hey, it's a 'step up').
3. >deep gameplay mechanics. You're joking, right? in terms of deepness in gameplay mechanics, both Bethesda and Obsidian made puddles in terms of deepness, just Obsidian's a bit deeper through ammo variety for different encounters to make it easier for the player, wow, what a shocker!
4. bias view is greatly bias, especially when you take a dump on NV's locations (which most actually have backstory to it or interesting setup), which this argument kind of falls flat on it's face when comparing it to FO4, which IMO is a big mistake, as through quantity, FO4 has the least amount of interesting locations compared to the other games in the franchise.
5. HANDHOLDING. This is the part where I'm sure people are not taking you seriously. I suggest editing this out. NV had a 'guide' somewhat, but it never forced you to go south. Ever. Did it suggest to? Why of course! easiest path around. But what stopped you, really, from going East or North? Cazadores in the north? You obviously didn't catch on with Chet's helpful tip on Hollow rounds, which allowed your starting weapon, the Varmint rifle, to take them down. What of the East? You afraid of a few coyotes and bark scorpions? What's worst, is that with the Ultimate add-on, you had a huge amount of starting gear that was designed to give the player the ultimate bit of early freedom, so honestly, this entire point is moot from the get-go, and the add-ons that most people have make this a joke overall.
"everyone"...no, everyone makes up like 10 people most of whom haven't even played the game, the game isn't small its not short on content, its how you play i guess, the game isn't about just doing the main quest, there's lots of quests and lots of locations and lots of things to do, there's spots all over the place, hidden and out of the way, you need to explore to find em, and its not possible to explore the map fully rushing the game, it takes a lot of time to get down to the nitty gritty, i find locations within locations sometimes, there's dungeons in places you wouldn't even expect, this game pays off for the person into exploring, for people just rushing through the main quest its not gonna be nearly as much content., it has like 108 base quests and thats not counting repeatable quests and over 300 locations and its a dense game with a lot going on.
Compared to all those games? Main Quest is better than 2,3 and New Vegas, in my opinion.
