Any ideas on what to do now?

Post » Mon Jan 11, 2016 9:22 am

So im level 86 (Xbox one) and have completed 70% of the whole game so far, collected plenty of legendary weapons and armor, built some good settlements, found a majority of the unique weapons that are found on YouTube, got Mark VI X-01, etc. however, I love playing this game a lot but I'm running out of things to do. If anyone has any idea on what I can do next (preferably something that doesn't only take 15mins to do) I will appreciate it. Lately I've just been farming legendaries which gets boring when I already have the best weapons in the game. Thanks guys

I know this probably isn't the answer you're looking for but my advice is take a break wait for the geck to be released, mod the [censored] out of the game and start a new playthrough. No reason to force yourself to play the game if you feel burnt out. As for what you're gonna do up to that point that's up to you :P

Stop looking up how to find and do everything on YouTube. Things will take longer than 15 min to find then. You sound like your just playing for achievements and accomplishments and not for fun

Take a break. Play other games. Create a new character later on and try another playthrough.

I'm on my 3rd character right, out of four. The 4th one I made for some quick fun times before going back to my 3rd character.

I agree with this post., except for the "not for fun" part since what's fun for you may be boring for someone else.

I have the collectors edition guide, but I've only looked up a few things, not even half a dozen, because the "Ahha!" moment doesn't come up twice unless you have memory issues (Not computer memory issues..real life mental ones.) and it's one of the entertaining parts this game has to offer for me.

I have watched a few Youtube videos, mostly on Settlement building and tips and mods, but if it sounds like it's about to hit spoilerville, I stop the video.

If you enjoyed playing the way you did, then the answer is, based on the way you played the game, maybe you're done. As someone already noted, you'll be able to make a very similar, but different game with mods, but for a console player that won't happen for at least a month I'm thinking.

So if you are just an achiever and getting to that fix is your goal, well you got there, and every pie has a last piece.

On that subject, that's part of the reason I'm ok with not giving out just about any game information before the release, because it means that much more "Wait, how many different magazines are there in this game?" type moments.

Explore other factions if possible some of their quests can take you to some interesting places. if your into the settlement building that can really consume time or simply explore

Challenge yourself with different difficulty games. Such as; Never using VATS, only using non-automatic pistols, using limited armor, ONLY using VATS. Stuff like that. Hope this helps!

I anticipate being up against this, as well, just as I did in F03, Skyrim, and any number of other games--including the Bioshocks, which I still can't get out of my mind.

New quest mods help a lot, but, me, I'm focusing on Dishonored 2. I couldn't play Dishonored over and over, as I do these games, so I'll come back to FO4 for a couple more refreshing tours.

Yep, I would start a new character, build the perfect settlements, use mods if you're on the PC to enhance the settlements, wait for new mods when GECK arrives, rinse repeat. Game can keep you busy for hours :)

^ So much this (bold to emphasize). Sad but true, my wife is making me wait until Xmas to play, and I've found I have to watch very slow players to not spoil everything for myself.

But more to the point, I played Skyrim like this. Looked up a vid for the latest cool thing, and that night went and did it. Becomes not fun fast.

I miss the true exploration (some markers don't trigger until you are on top of them?), and this iteration delivers that.

But only so much, if you look it all up, then.....well, you've seen it all.

An interesting thing to do is start concentrating on vertical spaces. By that I mean, I'm trying to access all elevated highways possible and see how far I can go in a given direction. Downtown, they are interlocked with many rooftops on high rises, and often have hidden goodies, raiders, and pretty cool views. Many times you will encounter muties and raiders below you that are fodder for a missile launcher or fat man....or get some long shot practice in.

Just my two cents...it's been a fun outing for me for several days now. They really put a lot of effort into the overpasses and interlocking those spaces with high rises in the downtown (and some other) areas. It is interesting to see the detail Beth put into the vertical aspect of the game.

There are a crap ton of construction lifts that will take you up to many of these areas. Some overpasses are accessible from a broken section. Just start hunting for them, and make it a point to see as much of this fairly unheralded aspect of the game as possible. To me, it's a little like the metro in FO3, just with a better view.

If that isn't your thing, there are 30 possible settlements you can focus on for many days.

Or, run around downtown until you've memorized the area and fight raiders and super mutants to your heart's content, as a bonus collect tons of armor and weapons...after all, those settlements are going to need gear for all the settlers you're going to attract by erecting signal stations at each locale.

Find every interior space you can (and there are a load of these)....many have loot, terminals, notes and possible side quests.

There's more than that of course, just use your imagination, pick a direction, leave your plans (and youTube) behind, and make an adventure. Beth games are primed for that sort of thing.

I wasn't saying I looked it up on YouTube, I said i got the ones you would normally find on YouTube so you didn't it mixed up when i said "legendary weapons" because there's a difference in the dropped ones and the ones you find from exploring

Build a castle in every settlement possible... or have theme based settlements. Dress up your settlers, etc. I'm level 62 now on PS4 but still have a lot to do. Just started the main quest line. LOL
