A Fallout 4 Mystery

Post » Mon Jan 11, 2016 11:15 pm

Ok, so me and my friends play fallout a lot. And a while ago we came across this town a little south from Diamond City. It is near a railroad, with train tracks nearby, and inside the neighborhood should be two Yao Guais. When I walked out of the neighborhood I found a small trailer with a trader inside, and there was a white houses a little ways down from the trailer. It was around 11 at night in game for me when I found this, and there was a floating purple ball of flame right next to the house. If I could show a picture I would, but basically as I walked up to it, the flame disappeared. I also found another of these lights in a parking garage next to Fallon's department and Milton General hospital. You may have heard it being referred to as the "Saw" maze. My friends have also reported seeing these lights at the drie in theater, and near hallucigen. Do any of you guys know what this is, what it means, where it came from, or if there are any more? If you do, then please let me know. We need to aolve this mystery.

You don't have a screenshot of this? I will say though, I saw a weird purple-red laser type light blinding me in combat once. Had NO idea what is was but assumed it was the Assaultron trying to target and attack me. Who knows!

I would love to know what this was as well. Are you on console or pc?

I think OP is referring to the lights...not the death maze.

No, I mentioned the death maze because one of the purple lights I found was inside the maze,I saw the purple glow from the outsdide looking in. As I got closer to it, the light disappeared. I decide to go in and check it out, I had no prior knowledge of what it was.

I see. I've heard about this maze, but haven't actually gone there yet. I'm not sure why that is. I had over 400 hours in my first play through and just never ended up there. I'm making a point of checking it out in my current play through though.

This potentially could be a missing texture issue. I've noticed that, in my time of modding Skyrim, a broken texture pathway results in the object becoming solid purple.

However, I'm not 100% that the thing with a broken texture pathway glows. And even if it doesn't in Skyrim, that may not hold true for FO4.

So, it's possible that you're getting an occasional bug on the PS4 where it can't render the right texture at a distance for certain things.

They're wall traps. The zappy kind, tesla arcs, like to glow from a distance. The one in Fairline Hills is like that for me too (even though it was not triggered).

I've seen a glow from the inside quite often.

It moves backwards and forwards because it's from a Glowing One ghoul inside the carpark.

It's a green glow though so maybe a rendering problem. Don't know.

The building is full of easily spotted traps.

As you approach that spot from either side on the caravan route, a foreboding short bit of music plays.

Sometimes the ghoul comes outside and joins the fight with the local Supermutants.

I clean the Mutants there out regularly because they pick on the caravans as they pass.

Actually a bit of trivia, at the top of that carpark is where I noticed a Lone Wanderer motorcycle parked.

It's possible it could be a bug related to the lightening (which is purple a lot of the time if not always). Of course I am saying this without having seen it so I could be so very very wrong.

You're not in PowerArmor with the targeting helmet making living things purple, are you?

I was thinking this. Skyrim had graphic glitches too in the shape of floating purple or red exclamation marks.
