farm food broken

I place food down to grow but then decide to move it to better location and I can only move one as the rest are unclickable. Ps4 seems to be a bug

I have this same issue (on PC) from time to time. Usually it seems to work fine if you just leave and try again later on at some point. This also results in some crops being essentially unassignable after planting them.

If you harvest the crops, you are unable to interact with the plants at all, until they bear fruit again. (or, whatever it is they happen to bear. :) )

@HeyYou is correct. Wait until it grows back and then you can move it.

The only real bug area I've found re crops is at Abernathy where there are a bunch of tatos that are unassignable and do not grow.

Kind of annoying, but...

I have that one also. I'm just hoping that assigning settlers to crops near those will allows some of them to be worked, thus harvestable, thus clickable again.

I suppose the 'bug' is that a harvested crop is not clickable regardless of where it is. I doubt that was a feature.

I put down one and it decided to move 4 feet in the air and I was like "I am going to delete you because I am not Bethesda thinking that is fine for you to float in the air"

I was able to eventually move/store all but one of those tato's at Abernathy- same deal- plant more nearby but not enough to max out your settlers harvesting ability, and they should eventually get 'farmed' and bear fruit, and you can move or store them.

I love that one. I have melons growing in mid-air at Sanctuary on the hill. Makes harvesting really easy. :0

I have experienced this many many times as well. I run on a PS4 also.

The BEST solution I have found to this is to fast travel away from the current location, rest for a bit (in a bed or wait in a chair) and then fast travel back.

I have been setting up Abernathy Farm with massive amounts of Tato/Murfruit/Corn, add in purified water from another settlement and I can make lots of vegetable starch (adhesive).

Its surprisingly more time consuming then I thought to have all the plants lined up properly.. haha

I ran into this issue so much when I was doing that.

A quick fasttravel away, rest and fasttravel back seemed to solve it for me.

Another thing I noticed when building the large farm. I had 6 settlers assigned to plants 10 Murfruit /20 Tato / 20 Corn (2/4/4 for each settler) I would get a total of 30 Food units, 6 per settler. I added another 2 Murfruit / 4 Tato / 4 Corn and assigned a new settler to the plants . My food went to ZERO!! then I saw the numbers slowly creep up 1,2,3,4,5,6 and it stopped. My new settler had their assigned plants, but all of my other settlers seemed to be confused and didn't have anything assigned. The even would walk out to the plants and then just stand there. Some of the plants were now un-selectable, some were showing assigned and some that were previously showing assigned, were showing now unassigned.

I did the fast travel away, rest and fast travel back and the settlement showed the correct values. 36 total food, all plants were assigned, all assigned settlers were tending to their plants.

I will see if I can take a screenshot of the farm when I am all done, I would like to try and get nearly all my settlers there farming. With my current CHA I can get 19 right now, 16 farmers, 1 assigned to artillery, 1 to salvage and 1 to patrol x3 guard posts along the perimeter of the settlement. But that is alot of plants (36 murfruit / 72 tato / 72 corn). I hope the farm can handle all that.
