Rare clothing

Post » Tue Jan 12, 2016 1:25 am

So far I have found only one of the following:

Bathrobe

Tattered Skirt

Pink Dress

Tuxedos are also rare and clean suits are a little more prevalent but not very common.

Any other rare clothing anyone knows about?

None of those are what I'd consider to be particularly rare. I have probably a dozen of each in my workbench waiting to get converted into scrap at some point.

There are a lot of unique outfits that you'll only get once in the game though. Reginald's Suit, Agatha's Dress, Kellogg's Outfit, the Silver Shroud Costume, the Grognak Costume, Lorenzo's Suit, Zeke's Outfit (from the Atom Cats), and some others. There are some that you can only get by killing someone or stealing it like the feather dress, Elder Maxson's coat, the black BOS Officer's Uniform, and Father's Outfit.

The red dress and the sequin dress are at least somewhat rare. The hazmat suit is pretty rare too, but I have quite a few of each of these now.

The trick to accumulating rare-but-not-unique clothing seems to be, at least in my game, to be a Rank 4 Clothing Merchant. I can get quite a few Red Dresses fairly quickly, and every male in my 24 person Sanctuary is in a suit of some sort.

There are also some of the different colored Institute coats. Are those considered rare-ish at all?

I've got several red & sequin dresses, and two or three tuxedos, but I've only found one Laundered Denim Dress. But I think that's just an RNG factor.

It seems to be different every time I play. First play ratty skirts and hoods I saw and early in game. Second play been all over never seen a hood. And almost every thing people have mentioned here has not been rare for me.

Cleanroom suit with hood. AKA that thing the woman wore when Sean was abducted.

There's only one place I've seen it that you can get it without murdering someone.

And I'm not 100% sure you can get it by murdering someone. If you can, that brings the total count you can get to... two, because the two people who wear it are named Institute members. And they appear seperately, in two separate quests.

I have only found one tattered field jacket in all my in time so far, and it wasn't in random loot. It was worn by a preset corpse.

If you go against the Institute, there are three or four cleanroom suits easily available in the final room with the reactor. The hostile scientists inside wear them.

Robes are not that rare for me but the ones I have found are all dark blue. I would like a red and white one I figured I wuuld have to wait for mods to get them.

Those the full suits or just the normal ones with the head left exposed? Either way, the hooded variant is still pretty damn rare, since it never spawns in loot or shops, and the primary source is only in the Institute's Reactor area, with two minor exceptions.

Only my merchants wear tuxedos, clean suits or dresses. Makes it easier to point them out, when I ship settlers from settlment to settlment. Also, it adds a nice touch to the line of shops. All the other settlers get their set of combat armor. From time to time it's gunner hunting season when I need to stock up on supplies for yet another settlment.

The hazmat suit is not rare. It can be purchased from at least 2 vendors that I know of, there is one in an NPC-made bunker and two sitting on a desk in a synth populated location.

I like to add that it's always Gunner hunting season; mostly due to them being a-holes.

Some of those bandannas seem pretty rare, I've only been able to find one blue one and one stars and stripes one. The stars and stripes one will respawn I think so you can theoretically get unlimited of those. Also found a leopard print bandanna on some random trader in the middle of nowhere which was pretty neat. Debating which one to give Dogmeat.

I also only recently found a leopard print bandana. Took about 200 hours of playing over two character files, and it was a random drop at that. I've also found only one Jangles Bandana.

If you're looking for clothing, the crashed airliner south of Tenpines is your best friend. There are a lot of suitcases with random cloth items lying around. They respawn after a time, so you can repeat the excercise quite often.

I'm nearly to level 80, and just found my first set of "Road Goggles"- different appearance than welding or wraparounds. Have no clue who exactly I looted it off of.
