Build for full playthrough

Okay, so I am having a little trouble coming up with a character build for a full run of the game, and decided to throw some ideas out here to come up with an idea from others' opinions. I will give you all a name and brief description of the build and just pick which one you like best:

  1. Specialist
    • The specialist was born and raised in Boston to a somewhat well off family. In high school she was a cheerleader, often acting like a bit of a snob. She ended up joining a secret government program because she thought it was fun, only to find out it was an assassin/spy training program. She was trained to kill and infiltrate enemy locations and use her charm to get things done. She ended up meeting and falling in love with a man named Nate, had a son called Shaun and lived in the Sanctuary Hills until the bombs.

  2. Street thug
    • This character is simply a bad boy/girl with a heart of gold. Willing to fight but not the person to just murder you for no reason whatsoever. Growing up in the rougher parts of the city, they had to learn to fight and do some criminal activity in order to survive. They ended up turning a new leaf, start a family and settle down, at least until Vault 111, when they wake up and return to their roots, looking to help and finding fights along the way.

That is all I have for now.

For Specialist, I was thinking more a melee assassin/sharpshooter (sniper) hybrid. Good with long range sniper rifles, but is also capable of melee combat if needed.

There 3 stages to combat. Long range, a sniper is very dangerous, I try to get as many headshots as I can but I'll indulge in sniper duels as it cuts down the numbers in the place.

Mid range combat is perhaps the hardest to do well. It's essential as you close distance and really determines how well your attack will do. Grenades are very strong, used well here.

Close in, room to room is great fun but needs a different approach to do well. Shotguns and Big Hammers are my choices.

My point is that you need all three to do really well.

The Professional is what I call that.

Well, right now, looks like the Specialist is winning. Now just to decide on factions for endgame.

I was thinking something similar for the specialist. Sniper rifles for long range assassination ops, combat rifle for sweeps of buildings and such, with a knife or something for when cornered in CQC.

Update: I decided to go ahead with the specialist (which Is going to be called Operative from now on). Play style will be in three stages:

  1. Long range sniper: In this stage (usually out in the open world, pre-building sweep ops) will be involving sniper training with Widowmaker (A to be modded advanced .308 sniper rifle). This set up is used to handle outdoor threats and clear buildings so it is safe to enter.

  2. Sweep: This will come on when a building is entered. Main weapon here will be a combat shotgun with a long ported barrel and a silencer (just for the sandman bonus).

  3. Kill or be killed: Last resort, utilizing a combat knife when caught and cornered. Last chance to complete the mission alive, so just pull out a knife and start swinging.

Have not decided on faction or armor set up yet, but the armor will be shadowed, for maximum stealth.
