I made these-Minutemen artillery and flare-gun coverage.

I put together these images showcasing the area you can cover with artillery pieces in your settlements.

Image 1:Full coverage with 1 piece of artillery in each settlement.

Image 3:Economic version:Sufficient coverage.

Image 2:Areas where you can call for minutemen help (If in range of closest settlement).Shoot flare at a 45 angle towards closest settlement for max range.

( new link ) http://imgur.com/a/M1gph Image 1:Max range of 1 piece.(Tested) Image 2:Example of a good coverage /piece.

NOTE:Ranges might be a little be larger in actual fact (possibly 10 %).I went with the range I was sure about.

Artillery smoke grenades and flares are often spawned inside of the workshop if the settlement has a piece of artillery.

Very cool. So basically, with the sufficient coverage one, you could call artillery strikes almost anywhere in the wasteland. Good to know.

Yeah, I made them because I wanted to know just how helpful those things are.Artillery Is really strong actually.

The cooldown for artillery is fairly short,(we are talking of a couple of minutes IRL).

Yeah, the biggest downside it has is only being available outdoors. Some of the perks of the other factions have no such limit.

Still, it's devastating if used correctly. I just cleared out a half-constructed building of Super Mutants with it last night. Snuck in, tossed the grenade, and snuck back out. A few volleys later, they were all dead. It helps that ones out of the blast radius come in to investigate their comrades dying between shots.

Are you talking of that building between the castle and the four leaf place where Marowsky chem lab is?

Am trying to understand why there's a difference between 1 and 2? Both are using the same number of settlements and can see 1 has a greater range, but they're only using 1 artillery piece each. What's sufficient coverage when it's the same number of settlements each with only 1 artillery piece?

In the first link I got the range of the artillery somewhat wrong. The second link shows a much more accurate range.

The second link shows the range of a single piece of artillery (placed at the castle) and an example of how to cover most of the map with 6 pieces of artillery.
