Starting the Railroad quests.

Post » Tue Jan 12, 2016 7:02 pm

So I tried starting the Railroad quests. I followed the red line to the church. When I got in, their was brotherhood, railroad, and ghouls fighting each other. I've haven't started anything with paladin danse. Or the brotherhood yet at all. When I try to go down the tunnel. The Railroad guys attacking me. Is their a fix to this? I've restarted a new game and went straight to the church at lvl 1. And still it was the same thing? I was wondering, If I uninstalled and reinstalled the game. It would fix this problem? or is their something else I could do. Ty and great game:)

Did you actually get a quest to follow the Freedom Trail? I think you get it just by overhearing some people talk about the Railroad (Bunker Hill or Diamond City, eg).... it may be that if you do not have the actual Freedom Trail quest in your journal, the Railroad won't recognize you. I've only ever seen ghouls in the church, up to the puzzle you need to solve to enter the actual Railroad area.

The Road to Freedom quest has to be initiated first.

One way is to hang around Diamond City near the vendors.

You can also start it by talking to the Protectron in the Commons.

If you go to goodneighbor it's pretty easy to pick up. When you first get there you walk around the corner and listen to the speech, then someone will mention it

Ya I just tried the follow The Road to Freedom again. Click on all the markers following the red line. I went into the church. And they are all in thier fighting still. Brotherhood, railroad guys, and ghouls. So I just dont know what to do.

Sounds like it is totally bugged, but have you tried just letting them fight it out (only the ferals should be hostile unless you shoot them) or joining in killing the Brotherhood and Ferals and then going into the tunnel to unlock the puzzle.

I don't recall getting this quest. It just happened for me by following the little red brick road. They weren't combatant towards each other, in fact the brotherhood weren't even there, just the railroaders.

Must be bugged. I killed Railroaders at the Battle of Bunker Hill then did the Freedom Trail quest. They weren't hostile to me at all. No BoS either. Just Ghouls.

It does sound like a later Brotherhood mission involving the Railroad, so yeah you might have to write of the Railroad (and their weapons and armor) for this playthrough.

PC. Have you added mods? Remove them and have STEAM verify your files. Much easier than uninstalling/reinstalling.
