overwhelmed with glitches

Post » Wed Jan 13, 2016 9:49 pm

When I'm at work I just want to get home to play fallout 4 but when I play fallout 4 the glitches just make me want to go to work.....

First off after meeting with paladin danse I initially told him I didn't want to join the brotherhood then changed my mind and accepted his offer at the police station but I cannot get him as a follower anymore and it's killing me

Secondly glitches like the radio guy at the castle getting off his chair and refusing to man the radio after that and my settlements loosing shared resources or randomly dropping defence food and water and beds to zero and when I enter the settlement everything's fine Or settlers just getting up and walking away from there assigned tasks ....

These are just a few of the issues I'm having right now

I realize this game is huge and the open concept leads to bugs but come on guys drop a small patch and clear up these glitches

I won't go as far as to say you'll lose your fan base because I was a fallout follower since interplay owned it but I get a bad taste in my mouth when I think about this game

If you're still at the police station and haven't gone to any other Brotherhood locations, then it's too early in the game for Danse to be a companion outside of the scripted going together to AJ after which he asks you to join. Not a glitch if you're where I think you are in the game.

Not sure how to explain my progress so you understand it .... all I'm getting is info from my kids

I just did the valentine quest to track. .... can't remember his name and my kids told me they had danse well before that quest

This isn't a deal breaker because this game is good and massive and bugs are expected ... but so are patches

You have to do a certain Brotherhood quest that you get from a location that is not the police station. Yout have to tour that other location and meet certain people there, and then Danse will become available as a companion after that. Quest is called Tour of Duty. If you have it shown as completed in your quest journal though, then maybe there is a problem in your game.

Make sure the radio has power connected and the generator doesn't need to be repaired, any switches and generators are "activated". Sometimes the electrical system just really does just glitch out though, so it may be as simple as removing and replacing the wiring between the radio and the generator, or storing the generator that powers that radio, then putting it back in place and reconnecting it.

From what I've experienced on the xbox, I can cut down almost all the glitches you're seeing with settlement resources fluctuating and damaging the happiness rating by making sure you never fast-travel out of your settlements. So cross over the build boundary, make sure the build HUD is gone (either close it or wait for it to time out) and then fast travel. Your mileage may vary, but I had the same problem driving me nuts, and this seems to keep it under control.

As far as people leaving their assigned posts, I'm guessing you're dealing with P Diddy and his crew in Sanctuary Hills. All the people he brought with him are scripted to do stuff that supposedly makes them seem more believable, like walk away from guard posts to bang pointlessly on the walls of buildings, or stand on the roof and complain about things incessantly. They're good for tending crops or scavenging stations, but not much else. Don't assign them to defense-related tasks if you can help it, although early on your options there are limited by your building supplies. Eventually you'll have reliable people to put on guard duty; anybody named "settler" or "worker" will actually stick to an assigned post or shop.

Good luck.
