Fallout 4 will not boot up

Post » Thu Jan 14, 2016 3:33 am

Fallout 4 start screen showing I click PLAY, dialog box says game is starting then the start screen shows. Every time I click PLAY it loops back to the Start screen. I tried uninstalling and re-install with not luck.

There must be a small part of the program that escapes the uninstall process but I have yet to find the problem.

Post a dxdiag report, please.

Use the Search box or Run... box, type: cmd and press Enter.

In the command prompt, type:

dxdiag /t dxdiag.txt
and press Enter.

Now go to the %userprofile% directory (C:\User\), find the dxdiag.txt file. Open the file. Select All. Copy and Paste its contents here in a reply. Use the spoiler tags, by either using the following:
[spoiler] dxdiag text [/spoiler]
or by clicking the icon (Special BBCode) next to Font menu, and selecting 'spoiler'.

Can you try to close steam (and from the taskbar) and re-launch it?

Then go to: C:\Program files(x64)\steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4

...and try to launch the game via Fallout4 executable (and not via Fallout4Launcher) with administrator rights. (so right click on Fallout4 -> Run As Administrator)
