I will start with:

If you are out exploring and stumble across the corpses of two deathclaws, be on you guard. Chances are better than even that there is something bigger and nastier than a radroach nearby. :P

Rarely use VATS. So clearly not a huge part if you can game the whole game without using it.

If you are using vats hit the back button after a kill as this will prevent you from being stationary

You can also use VATS to pinpoint an enemy's location and line up a shot, if you aren't sure exactly where they are.

Then back out of VATS and take the shot. That 6% chance to hit is more like 99% once that raider's in my scope.

You can also use VATS to spot mines.

While Lights require power, they don't actually use full units. A single small generator can light an entire multi-story building no matter how many lights there actually are.

My experience is different; attached a medium generator at a house, industrial light's only lighted ? up at one side of that house....

Save before starting any new quest, and keep several past save states in case of bugged quests.

You do have to wire the place up. I had to wire up pretty much all the back and both sides of my three-story building to get Power close enough to turn on all the lights, but I was able to light somewhere between 15 and 25 lights off of a single Small Generator.

Disappointed with the lack of windows in settlement building? You can snap a wooden fence to a door frame so you to can have those post apocalyptic views you have always dreamed of! :wavey:

Some of the lights do actually use a numerical amount of power. I think the industrial lights are in that category. The standard lights don't require a certain amount though.

You still have to run the wire all the way around the house though. The conduit things have a sphere of influence that goes two wall/floor sections in each direction, as I recall.

Shack foundations are your friend for certain types of terrains with settlements, it's better to make elevated shacks sometimes then trying to get use to the terrain.

Power conduits provide power 2 walls wide around its placement point. Think of it like a +. just not above and below its point.

Build storage as soon as you get to Sanctuary... no need lugging your stuff everywhere.

Carry atleast 1 gun and 1 melee weapon.... no need to waste ammo on Radroaches. Or the very least put a bayonet on something.

Always remove the fusion core from power armor when you park it anywhere in your settlements. your people will use it if not.

Build water purifiers as a cheap and easy way to make caps. you'll get about 30+ water a day depending on your settlements needs. Sell the rest.

Diamond City Celebrates Christmas. When it is 12/25 in game (not your console/PCs clock) It will be festive.

Pip-boy lights are determined by the color of your pip-boy. red = red, blue = blue, white = white.

You have to find/mod a Power Armor helmet to make use of the flashlight. No light installed, not flashlight.

If you string together multiple power using turrets, and they don't all work when hooked up to 1 generator, place another one and run a line from generator to generator. adds power to the total line (circuit)

Super Mutant Suiciders have MINI-NUKES!!!! RUN!!!! or if you hear the beeping, either shoot the nuke to explode it before it hits you, or cap him to get the nuke (as long as it didn't go off).

You can hear someone fire a fatman at you, it sounds like a whirling sound.

Has anyone looked in a vualt tec luanch box? You should. Also dont shoot off the arms of a robot they have a habit of...going atomic. Cant anyone tell me what shooting off the tail of a deathclaw does? I seen it happen when it was fighting off a raider.
