If you ignore Cait's personal quest, she will relapse

Damn, very dark of you Bethesda.

Um.. are you making this up by placing the body via console commands or this actually happens?

That's what I'd like to know as well lol. I've never witnessed that while traveling with Cait, and it took me a little while to get around to her personal quest.

I have no idea you could 'place' an npc using console. My Deezer, the lemonade robot, is stuck outside of Covenant and won't budge, he only moves when he's fighting enemies and then stays rooted to the spot. If there's a command to teleport him back into the settlement that would be great.

I didn't place her body but I did drop some drugs next to her for the lulz

Yes, typical Bethesda glitch. I had Cait lying on the floor too. She talked normally, but there was no way to get her back on her feet. Fast travelling didn't work. It just transported flattened Cait with me. Only reloading an earlier safe brought her back.

Not sure if that works. It only transports the NPC without changing their status, I assume. Well, the NPC is already there, lying on the floor.

not sure I buy this. I got her quest ages ago and finally got her to vault 95. the fact she is sitting there in the injured pose with psycho and a med box nearby? I doubt those just happen to spawn next to her.

and how would you trigger this scene? return to where you dismissed her and find her this way? what are the odds?

I call some BS on this one. With the console command you could "kill" her which would put her in that position. Then easily enough you can turn her AI off so she doesn't move. Next you can using console commands place her where you want AND spawn those items next to her.

Because I know I could easily make this picture myself, I'm calling it a fake occurrence. I'm saying its staged.

unless proven otherwise.

It is a mesh replacement of the wounded BoS knight Rhys outside the Cambridge Police Station with some psycho and jet dropped nearby.

Followers can end stuck in knocked down position.

Not only Cait, probably all humanoids, they will fast travel with you but stay knocked down.

Non critical bug as it pass with sleep or just time

I had that with Allie in the Mass Fusion quest. She was permanently in the "downed" position and teleported around with me though lifts and the like. Looked different to this though.

^This. If you stand around outside the doors of the police station long enough your companions will eventually sandbox themselves into this position. It has nothing to do with a relapse. Most followers do it, not just Cait.

While this is pretty funny, something similar "can" happen in the game

Spoiler
If you keep giving Mama Murphy Drugs after building her "special" chair, she will eventually OD and die.

Now I've seen that on YouTube. Can't wait to see it in my game.

Spoiler
Since I made that chair she doesn't work anymore anyway.

Man, that would've been so dark if it were true. Would've also added some sense of urgency to get her clean since she did tell you her addiction was basically killing her. Delay her quest and ultimately, she'll die.

But no, that doesn't happen.

Cait falls over all the time for me. I assumed it is just due to her constant psycho use.

She always is responsive and gets back up though.
