Hi guys/ girls i have a major problem that i need fixing

so it goes like this im currently doing the side quest "The secret of cabot house".

And my problem is as such whilst shooting one of the many bad guys in and around the insane assylum i accidentally (honest)

put a bullet into jack a freindly npc that is supposed to open a door in the basemant . however he would not stop attacking me and so i decided that i should carry on regardless . so i am now stuck in the basemant with no way out i can go between the lobby and the basemant but cannot get back to jack or get out of the asylum i am level 34 and my last viable save is somehow all the way back at level 18 .... i slept five days hoping jack would have cooled off and come and found me but he simply has not ... im totaly stumped please bethesda rescue me ?

Reload the older save data.

And learn from this mistake from now on. Save your game manually.

Also, this isn't exactly a bug. More like you're trapped by the game's mechanism. Same stupid in the end.

I make games and any mechanism that allows you to be in such a situation is a bug ... However if anyone else has this same issue i have a rather ironic fix. You can use another glitch to allow you to jump high enough to escape the basemant its as simple as follows .

Ok so if you pick up a metal bucket by holding x i.e hold it out in front of you (Not put it in your inventory) .you can lower the bucket towards the ground whilst jumping with your back facing the obstacle you want to scale you will actually jump a lot higher than usual allowing you to escape
