Post » Thu Jan 14, 2016 6:59 pm

Im a level 30 and prety good about picking up junk during my travels. After getting the ballistic weave perk I uprgraded my military fatigues. Now that I've increased my armorer perk, I want to improve the ballistic weave garment but dont have enough raw materials. Am i the only one that cant seem to find military duffels or military grade duct tape? I dont mind buying some but tdonhavent seen any for sale.

For Ballistic Fiber, you can but shipments from KLEO in Goodneighbor and Lucas the traveling armor merchant. For smaller/cheaper portions, you can recruit the Vault Tec Rep as a Settler and assign him to a level 3 General Store. He then becomes a "level 4" merchant and usually has 3 military ammo bags every time I go to him. (If you put him in a settlement you frequent a lot and check in every day once his inventory restocks, you can get a lot of ballistic fiber cheaper this way.)

For the other ingredients, Deb in Bunker Hill sells fiberglass shipments, and adhesive can easily be made out of vegetable starch. Set up 3 farming settlements that grow corn, tatos, and mutfruit, and you'll soon have enough adhesive to fill a swimming pool.

Shipment of Ballistic Fiber is your friend. So get out there and earn some cash. :)

Most ballistic fabric I've found is usually through military grade duct tape, which is rare in the game. I also found a few ammo bags, which is nice because they'll respawn.

By the time I got the weave perk, I had over 100, but I also got it late (level 58). Good thing, because I put it on the Courser outfit, and so far, that's the best rating I've seen on armor (Mk V - 145/125/15).

I can now survive suicide mutants. ;)

That's the most amusing part honestly, between ballistic weave clothing and wearing a Dense heavy Combat armor chest for added protection from explosions, I can stand right next to these guys in survival mode and barely feel it.

Yeahhh, Ballistic Weave is kind of....very...broken. My sneaky sniper character has ditched armor entirely for an armored fedora and an Armored Agatha's dress. Still has higher defense ratings than will a full set of upgraded heavy leather.

I only wish I were able to play on PC to get a mod that expands the clothing than can be armored. Especially headwear....it's basically fedoras or nothing. Instead of Minutemen, you could basically call me, my companions, and all of my settlement guards the Fedora Squad.

fadora only affects head shots and dress only affects legs and chest so if you get shot in the arms you die lol unless you are wearng arm armor in addition to that.

I wear Minuteman fatigues and a tilby hat, mk IV, with legendary armor on top. Been surprised more than a few times that I'm getting shot and barely scratched.

He usually has 1-3 in his inventory every time for me. They're cheaper than shipments and if you check regularly, you can stockpile more than what you'd need to outfit yourself and your companions.
