Cricket is gone, the Spray n' Pray with her?

Post » Thu Jan 14, 2016 9:43 pm

What the title says, basically.

I've waited for her for literal weeks of in-game time outside Vault 8 and Diamond City. Sometimes caravan guards show up but without Cricket.

I assumed she's lying dead in a ditch somewhere and used the console to spawn her at my location, but in that state I can't barter with her, only hear how very keen she in fact is to barter with me.

I've sough out the object ID for the Spray n' Pray but it's either erroneous or I'm doing it wrong, the console won't give me the weapon.

I'll gladly give three times what it's worth to some Commonwealth charity, but right now it almost looks like both Cricket and the gun are gone from my game.

Since that makes no sense when it should simply be a matter of a code, is there any advice?

She is unkillable unless you killed her and if you did than yes, spray n' pray is gone with her.

Same thing happens to me sometimes, just follow the guards they sometimes spawn away from her, she likes to go to Vault 81, near diamond city, and to bunker hill.

I find her a lot at the Warwick Settlement in the SE portion on the map

Normally without her guards or cow.

Build a caravan stand in your settlement. I have her show up all the time in Sanctuary.

Thanks for the tips, everyone.

I'm afraid I'm not the only one with this issue since a quick search revealed that Cricket has died in other people's games, and not by their hand. I'm morally certain I haven't killed her either unless there was some crossfire and I never even noticed.

I've checked all the listed places she can turn up in roughly 30 passes of 5-hour waiting periods each after the original post, and she just won't appear.

Either her pathing is completely off or she's dead, in which case I have to find her corpse and resurrect it, or find the weapon some other way.

That'll have to be after Christmas, though. Have a good one if you celebrate it,

Cheers

Erm... can't you just get a sub machine gun and use the console to add the explosive "mod" to it? I'm on PS4 so I have no personal experience but I'm pretty sure I read (on the Wiki) that you can do that on PC. I understand some people don't like using the console like this but since you were planning on resurrecting her then I doubt you'd mind.

There are also ways, even on console versions, of "legitimately" farming for any specific legendary items you want, if that sits better with you. You could just rename it Spray n' Pray :)

I only just learned that there are similar versions of the same weapon in the legendary loot pool. My plans to resurrect her were based on the assumption that the S n' P couldn't spawn outside her inventory. I tried the console method you suggested since I saw it mentioned on another site, but I couldn't get it to work. Maybe just as well.

However: ordinarily I prefer farming things legitimately, but the pool in this game seems entirely unstructured so that could theoretically take forever (?)

I can be very patient, but if there's no designated drop source with at least an increased chance to drop, say, a weapon as opposed to my 50:th 'safecracker's' armor piece....hmmmm :unsure2:

I'll be away from my machine for a few days anyway, maybe it's better to come back to the game with some seasonal cheer under my belt.

Have you tried Arturo in diamond city? Pretty sure I bought one from him in my first playthrough.

Yes, I have, but farming vendors kills me and it seems very rare for SMGs (of any kind, let alone with rare mods) to turn up in a vendor's stock. Almost as rare as it is for them to drop from a slain legendary enemy, in fact. I think I've seen one in many hundreds of kills.

On a side note, Cricket is very definitely mortal.

I sent another character to Vault 81 to buy the Spray N' Pray. Two seconds after the deal was closed, some errant gunfire from one of her caravan guards (he was supposedly targeting a Yao guai exactly 180 degrees in the other direction) set a vehicle on fire. It promptly blew up, taking Cricket with it.

Adding insult to injury, the AI blamed me for the sorry event even though my weapon was holstered. Piper 'hated that', then apparently caught some splash damage from the vehicle which caused her to turn hostile to me.

Bethesda AI (and Christmas shopping) in a nutshell.

Try this in the console:

player.moveto 12fcd0

That should move you to Cricket so you can see where she is.

Alternately you can try:

prid 12fcd0

moveto player

This should move Cricket to you.

Er ... I don't think I've ever seen an option for a 'caravan stand'. Is it something you have to unlock with a magazine or something?

Thank you.

I had tried the latter command before, but that only brought me a Cricket I couldn't barter with.

I was thinking there ought to be a command like 'moveto' but didn't know it.

She was lying roughly between Vault 81 and Hangman's Alley, very dead.

Since I hadn't seen a single SMG after another 250-ish 'quicksave/repeat' runs since the last post, I used the console to resurrect her and buy the Spray N' Pray.

Hope she's more careful in future....

Thanks again!

You can build the caravan stations that draw in the travelling vendors after you complete a mission for the mayor of Bunker Hill.
