Huge glitch (castle) game killer

Post » Thu Jan 14, 2016 9:01 pm

I should start off by saying that I own and play fallout 4 on both the PlayStation 4 and PC. Recently I have noticed a game killing glitch while playing on the PlayStation 4. After a search on the internet i found that I was not the only one having this issue. In fact I discovered the problem exist across the consoles and PC. I have tried all of the problem solvers on the Bethesda website to fix the issue but nothing works. I have scoured the internet trying to find anyone who has found a solve this problem but have not found anything, only more people with the same problem. Now for the problem...

While working the Minutemen missions after taking the castle back there is an assigned NPC that works the radio. It is with this radio that you are able to deploy artillery with your smoke grenades. At some point while continuing on with other missions the NPC that sits in the chair in the middle of the castle running the radio gets out of the chair. Once he does he does not return to the chair but instead says that the array needs to be powered. At this point no amount of power will bring him back to the chair there is no command that will bring him back to the chair. This effectively renders the castle and artillery unusable for the rest of the game.

There are several theories as to why this happened the most prominent is that he leaves the chair to help defend the castle during a raid. Regardless this is a major issue that needs to be addressed in the next update

I went straight to the castle without joining the minutemen to clear it out. Did it after scaving for more ammo and building up a few settlements. I built some generators to get the water purifier up and planted some crops. now i have sent 6 settlers there but nobody is tending crops. do i need the minutemen for this or did I screw up my game?

This is also problematic not just for PS but for xBox as well.

Reports have been coming in about this since November. Perhaps Bethesda should, maybe, fix this huge glitch!

I would hope so considering it affects a trophy/achievement.

I have the same problem, I reported through the Besthesda bug system and haven't heard back. Frustrating and annoying. Been a fan for years (played them all), but this is a breaker for me. Wish Bethesda would read and reply to bugs being reported. Presume the pressures of building the game mean they've all taken a 6 month break....
