Is there any other weapons that can use this legendary perk outside of the laser musket? Specifically the gamma gun. I've only seen one automatic laser musket so it must be a rare effect to even find in the first place.

Only the laser musket by default.

What does automatic do on the laser musket? reloading it I assume. Nice as its main downside is the low rate of fire,

its one of my fav weapons. it increases the magazine to around 20. Then to load it you crank backwards about 5 times and then like an old timey civil war minigun you start cranking it forward making it automatic. You can also slap the splitter on it if you want making an automatic shotgun laser musket.

I found an auto laser musket over the weekend. It feels like a really unique weapon as opposed to most legendaries. My only complaint is that it's difficult to aim with since you have to crank it up to begin shooting. As Dillon_J mentioned it might be better as a laser shotgun in this case fired from the hip.
