Flickering AF picture

Post » Fri Jan 15, 2016 1:29 am

So yes, it's my second attempt to start topic.

From the very beginning: ive pre-ordered Fallout 4 on PS4. You know, that's pretty big amount of money for something, that isnt working properly.

When I started playing the game, my eyes were just on the edge to blow- all textures were flickiering (or blinking, whatever). Unfortunately, I dont have permission to post links to prove you my words. Why I'm writing here? Because Bethesda support hadn't answered IN TWO MONTH. So yep, I want to know what is going on.

BTW, I've answered to help to Sony support and we solved that the problem isnt in my PS4

All Hail Todd Howard and best regards

What was the answer of Sony about that flickering?

Is that video close to yours?

It seems more like ghosting as flickering.

If that's the case, then yes it's game related.

Just...don't turn around like a crazy man, as this guy do. :P

Well, i can inform you that this flickering is not normal. I don't have it, actually a lot of people doesn't have it, and my friend (that also bought the game, because of me -lol) doesn't have it either.

So, that was a cheap excuse from Sony if you ask me!

Let's see if we can do some thing about it.

-------------

Other games running fine?

Go yo your Settings (on your PS4 dashboard) -> Sound and Screen -> Video Output Settings -> Put all three settings to Automatic

  • Your television may have specific adjustable HDMI display settings. Please refer to your television owner's manual for options.

  • Connect your console to other HD TVs if possible. (If it displays correctly on other televisions, then that suggests a particular TV/HDMI configuration issue rather than a console specific one.)

  • Try using different HDMI cables to see if that affects your HDMI output

  • Inspect the HDMI ports on both your PS4 and TV for any damage/anomalies (also try another TV HDMI port)

  • See if your television has firmware upgrades (this differs widely from maker to maker), and upgrade your set to the latest firmware

Lastly, if any of the above doesn't give you much help:

First delete your game, and any saves you have created.

Delete your game from: Settings -> System Storage Manager -> Applications -> Fallout 4 [Options] Delete

Delete your saves from: Settings -> Application Saved Data Management -> Saved Data in System Storage -> Delete -> Fallout 4 -> Select All [Delete]

Go here: https://support.us.playstation.com/articles/en_US/KC_Article/Safe-Mode-PS4/

Do option 4 [Restore default Settings] and 5 [Rebuild Database] in that order.

Restart your PS4, install Fallout 4 - let it update and wait until the installation gets completed.

--------------

If you encounter the same problem, go into safe mode again, and do option 7 [Initialize PS4 (Reinstall System Software)]

However keep in mind: >>> This deletes all information on the HDD, including the System Software. <<<

So, backup your stuff, and make step 7

You will need to reinstall the system software from here: https://www.playstation.com/en-us/support/system-updates/ps4/

Let's hope step 7 will not be needed !!!

---------------

Other workarounds:

  • Try the game disc on another PS4.

  • Delete Fallout 4 and another game (similar sized as Fallout 4) - restart your PS4, and install Fallout 4 again.

I had this happen once, a reboot of my ps4 solved the problem. I think the textures just didn't load properly and they were stuck in memory like that.
