Bobbi No Nose Big Dig Bug

Post » Thu Jan 14, 2016 8:47 pm

I know this has been complained about before, but it's been two months now and I still can't talk to Bobbi in Goodneighbor. She never answers her door, and I can't start The Big Dig without her, nor will I be able to get Hancock as a companion. This isn't a new bug, and I'd like to know if there's anything I can do on PS4 without console commands, or if there's any chance of a patch addressing this anytime soon enough to matter. Thanks.

You won't get an answer about the patch, that's for sure. But give us more background on your situation. What part of the main quest are you in? When you walked into good neighbor for the first time, did Hancock kill the man who tried embezzle you? Did you reload a save from prior to coming in good neighbor, tried restarting your console, or just attempted to leave and come back multiple times? I went to good neighbor fairly early in the game, right after I found Investigated Kellog's home with Valentine, and follow dog meat; but before going to Fort Hagen. When I walked into the walkway she immediately confronted me before I got to her door with the sliding latch. Her terminal is bugged and inaccessible, and I had a problem trying to get her to talk at the end of the big dig quest. I kept spamming the X button and walking all around her, eventually she went into her dialogue. You really need to try everything, because it seems unlikely Bethesda will release a useful patch anytime soon... Hell, the kill shot god mode glitch is an extremely easy fix, and they haven't even approached the issue.

Thanks for responding. I'm very early in the main quest (rescued Valentine but haven't met him back at the office), but have played extensively through side quests. I have partnered and maxed out three companions (post-dogmeat). Yeah, Hancock killed the guy that first accosted me on entering Goodneighbor. I've tried different saves, but only quicksaves and autosaves since I don't want to go back super far. I have completed the Silver Shroud quests, which I understand might be the reason I'm in the mess I'm in.

That wiki page does not show anything relevant with any of the bugs people are reporting on consoles. Also, it might be due to the silver shroud, it is odd you've managed to complete the whole quest line before even running into her, as you have to go back to goodneighbor a few times before he even gets kidnapped. When I enter a new area, I tend to go explore everything before actually doing any of the quests, unless they are local. I've explored the game by clearing areas based on their difficulties first, so I'm just starting to head south to where he has been taken, and where the castle is in S-E Boston. You know actually, one of the assassination targets for that quest is in the same alleyway to where she speaks to you. If you get involved in that fight prior to speaking to her, it may very well cause a problem. You should try loading an earlier to save just to see if it works. Then you will know if that might be the reason.
