Post » Fri Jan 15, 2016 8:23 am

Hello everyone who has already beat the game and made changes to both the female and male character.

Does Shauns advlt face change or is he looking the same over all games even though the father and mother looks different from each time?

I was wondering exactly the same thing last night, coincidentally. If nobody knows, I may make prodigious use of console commands tonight to advance the quest line and find out.

Yeah, you can test it by creating a mother and father with the most ridiculous exaggerated features you can to see the effect it has on Shaun's appearance.

I used the "muscular" neck texture for the father, and "Father" had the same muscular neck texture. Other features were harder to nail down, since I made both husband and wife pretty normal-looking and attractive. As noted, you could create some really monstrous parents and see the effect on the child (giant bulbous noses, huge fat body types, etc)

In my game I did not change the appearance of the male, but I made osm changes on the female and I could see a huge similarity between the father and Father (Shaun).

This made me wonder if Father would look different if the parents changed or if it was just a lucky hit from the devs with the face. :)

Or just make the skin color dramatically not-white and see if Shaun folllows suit.

Planning on playing the female, I made the father as ugly as possible. It shows. What I'm not sure however, is if it changes, if you're visiting the plastic surgeons.

Yep, Father changes.

I couldn't really tell on some of the finer details, but I have noticed that skin color, lips, and eyes match the SS and Spouse.

I've taken screenshots of all of my Shauns and all of my characters so far, it's really fascinating how it works. Check it out:

Looks like it might be semi-random what features Shaun takes from which parent. Caecilly's Shaun's face takes more after Caecilly, but Penelope's Shaun's face seems more like her husband with the fatness and tiny eyes. Francis's Shaun looks the best, though.

It might, I noticed in Kellogg's memories I had my new haircut in the cryopod instead of the original I started with. So if it's generated after, Father may be the same way.

I was disappointed with my Father. I hadn't really thought about it because I've been on the same character for close to 270 hours and her husband died 15 minutes after his creation. Anyhow, I was disappointed because my character is a white female while her husband was a black man (looked like me before he died). Now when Shaun was a baby, he looked mixed. When he grew into the sagely, old man we get to know, he was straight white. Meh.

I don't know. My friend said his character started out with pale skin, but later on he went to the surgery to change her skin tone, and Shaun still had pale skin when they met.

My Shaun looks Asian with almond shaped eyes and light brown skin. My character is Asian, so that's expected.

If you get facial reconstruction surgery from Diamond City Shaun's appearance won't change, it's based on what you made at the start of the game or exiting Vault 111.

I would love to see screen caps of Shaun with different ethnicities if anyone has them.

My third time around mother white and father black. The baby is black.

I have not seen Shaun. My 1st character is at level 31, 2nd and 3rd is 11.

So far I've only come to that point with one character, but I will assume that the answer is "yes", though Shaun will always have white hair and beard no matter what, I'm sure. The impact of your character's appearance on him is most evident on "young Shaun". I gave my character, male, black hair and tanned skin, which the "young Shaun" certainly had. Father/Shaun seems to have tanned skin as well, though not as dark/pronounced as my character's. Made a female character and "young Shaun" had red hair like she did, but never got to Father on her. I'm going to guess that facial features affect Father's appearance, too, but they would probably have to be pretty insane to really be evident.

I lied. I seen Shaun as a 10 year old with my first character with the dream quest finding out what is what. He is white with red hair.
