When the bombs fell upon America, our nation was shattered. Precious knowledge was lost, and for years, darkness clouded the world. It was before the war, many vaults were built to safeguard those that could afford such luxury. The vaults were meant to reopen after it was safe... something that no one ever would know after the Great War.
However, before being released, many of these vaults performed test upon there own denizens, the Overseers perhaps being the only ones safe. One vault however, never planned to release those that took shelter within its cold walls.
Vault 101... it was here, one of the Wastelands Greatest Hero's lived there childhood, and it was here, this Hero's journey began. The journey of, the Lone Wanderer.
What started as a search for the one man that guided him throughout his childhood, ended in a firestorm of retribution and rage. The Lone Wanderer aided one of two very powerful warrior clans, in a war against a superior enemy, all for vengeance and to finish his fathers mission. His name, Jack.
During his journey, Jack faced many hardships, had many chances to turn back. But he did not, for where one person may of fallen, Jack was determined to surpass. Along his journey, he met two companions, one of which was killed during the Firestorm of Retribution, and one which has loyally been by his side throughout all the years.
After the fall of the warrior's that killed his father, known as The Enclave, Jack had no path left to follow. The very place he grew up in was the one place he would forever be exiled from, and by one that was once close to him. The Lone Wanderer disappeared... but war... war never changes.
Three years after the Lone Wanderer left, the knowledge of how to use vehicles and means of transport was discovered by a very smart mechanist. So began, the war for fuel. The mechanist found two kinds of fuel, one atomic, but rarely recommended, and one known as Black Water. Oil...
The warriors of the wasteland, pillagers, wanted to use this Black Water to fuel there machines of war, and would stop at nothing to achieve that goal. The Atomic way had destroyed many of there kind, and the Black Water was being drilled throughout the entire country by the Warrior Clan that the Lone Wanderer aided.. those that followed Steel.
As the war for the Black Water occured in the wasteland, the Super Mutants brought out there machines of war within the cities. The followers of Steel had there own war to fight, and could barely lend a hand to the Wastelanders.
-
It has been ten years since the Lone Wanderer first came into the Wasteland, and it has become far more brutal. Two wars are now being fought, one more obvious then the other.
The Fuel War is a war between Raiders and all other denizens of the Wasteland, for none other then the Black Water that powers there vehicles. The Warriors of Steel are minorly involved in this battle, with a few drills set up west of Megaton to supply there vehicles for there own war in the city ruins.
Megaton has become the sight of salvation for most waste landers in Washington, travelers and citizens trying to live as normal they can. This town is probably the second most defended establishment not owned by Raiders or Slavers, the first being the Super Mutants stronghold of the entire city... beyond that, you will either be fighting slavers and raiders, joining them, or being killed by them.
The Fairfax Ruins are now filled with Raiders, no leader among them, just cooperation to gain more fuel for there vehicles. Evergreen Mills and Paradise Falls have also become massive outpost for the raiders. The closest a slaver or raider gets to a leader is to follow the orders of the most respected warrior among them. Or the most powerful...
Meanwhile, another war is being fought inside the city ruins. The Warriors of Steel have been trying to push deeper into the city of Washington, but have had a awful time in doing so. Currently, they control The Mall, THe Pentagon, and the GNR radio plaza, along with metro's around these areas. THat is not enough however, for the once powerful lazer and plasma technology they wielded has been depleted.
The warriors of Steel believe that the Super Mutants have a massive amount of advanced technology, for there are rare times, when a leader mutant holds a plasma rifle in battle. The leaders however, do not come out often...
To make matters worse, the Super Mutants have found ways to control Ghouls and some sort of mutated bird species, which somewhat resembles a dinosaur in ways. Both, ghouls and what the Warriors have nicknamed Redul for the bird species only come out in the dark, but that does not mean they are dangerous... no leader has been found among the Super Mutants yet, but there is massive chance that whoever is leading them, is far more intelligent then the rest of its breed.
Both wars are deadly, and the outcome of each will decide the wastelands fate. What will you do in this time? Will you be a wastelander, doing what you wish but staying between the boundaries of good and evil, or perhaps a warrior that this land needs? Are you going to be a Slaver who captures people and sells them to your raider cousins for fuel, or a Raider who either follows another, or is followed by others?
Maybe even a Super Mutant, or apart of the Brotherhood... but the final question is, will you be alive when this is over, and how shall we remember you if you are dead or alive...
