Where to find BoS uniform of other colors

Post » Sat Jan 16, 2016 3:26 am

I know that the BoS uniform, which can be worn beneath armor, comes in three colors: orange, olive green, and black. However, I only ever seem to acquire the orange variant, and Brandis is the only individual I see with the black version. As I couldn't find an acceptable answer to this question on the Fallout wiki...does anyone here know how to get a black or green version without mods (I am on PS4) and without making a kill that will turn BoS hostile?

yes get pick pocket all the way up, lets you steal equiped armor and weapons like I did to make naked guards in Skyrim

Also good to do before you make a faction hostile, lol a bunch of Synths and railroad agents trying to punch you to death.

Brandis has the only black BOS Uniform object in the game at this time.

Olive Grey ones can be found on the corpses of some officers in combat armor after their patrols die, but it's very random.

The orange one is freely available for purchase.

Considering its low durability and lack of SPECIAL stat bonuses, it's more just a cosmetic item. PC users shouldn't feel any issues just console commanding themselves a copy.

And as it is simply a cosmetic item (though has radiation resistance), that's why I'd like to acquire one eventually. But so far, haven't found any on any corpses, not even the occasional Paladin corpse.

Are you on PC or console?

(And 5 points of rad resistance is... not much.)

PS4, sadly.

This is probably mostly for my newest character, who is going to revolve more around Power Armor, so I'm not nearly as worried about the clothing he wears (though I will try to build up a set of armor that I can use when not using PA, of course, and have SPECIAL-enhancing outfits on hand).

Edit: He also will be my fully-BoS character, so I'm just thinking "in-character", superficially.

Ahh. Too bad.

If on PC, it's definitely not a big deal to just give yourself one via console command since it's just a cosmetic thing (not like you can't buy an orange one for the stats). As it is, you just need to follow vertibirds around and check the crashes for corpses.

They certainly do crash a lot....lol

Only thing about the orange version is that it reminds me of Mark Watney's suit in the film adaptation of "The Martian", which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but olive green and black are far more badass when considering how the BoS is. If it was a dark red instead of orange, it would fit in with the BoS better. Instead, it comes off as gaudy, like the Vault jumpsuits. :P

I like how the darker colors look as well, so I understand. Good luck finding one. :)

I got a set of Danse I believe (I took his uniform and power core).......which explains why he was in his undies when I shot him in the head.

That would involve killing Brandis, though, I am sure. :(

I could've sworn there was 3 NPCs in the game with that black variant, Brandis and two other named paladins.

Why? You can steal it. Many people at the Airport has black uniforms, just steal it from them.

As I said, Danse has a dark uniform so you can get one from him as soon as he is a companion and a free power core (and the laser rifle he gives you).

Also I've never killed a BOS member and I've a fair number of the dark BOS uniforms, Brotherhood fatigues and Scribe armours......the Red Rocket had a Brotherhood outpost feel when I equipped all my Settlers with BOS uniforms.
