Me also! I placed the egg on the nest and legged it without even glancing back haha. I wonder if the gauntlet can still be collected retrospectively!?

Deathclaw Gauntlets are just melee weapons that drop occasionally above a certain level. The legendary ones are fun.

yes, I just did research, they are sold at level 20 and higher, drop randomly from Deathclaws at level 20 and higher, and some raiders drop them at higher levels.

It's also hilarious the comments the PC will make if you click on the friendly Deathclaw before dropping the egg in the nest. So that's a plus. (Note, at least for the ps4 version, when you approach the Deathclaw, the prompt to hit X to talk does not show up, but if you hit X any way, the PC says some cute things).

Last time I did this quest, a Glowing Deathclaw was at the nest, so that was fun to see. Got right up close to it and took a screenshot. :)

Take a Deathclaw egg back to the nest, so what, it can hatch, grow up, and come back to kill us later?

Pass. That egg made a nice omelet.

There's probably 2 people who play melee characters who'd want the "reward" for doing such, but doubt they use it long once they find the rocket sledge.

:P

I took it back to the nest, the last thing I wanted was to have to look over my shoulder the rest of my life in fear some angry mother was about to get her revenge :) Besides who knows may be when the thing grows up we can become friends. Now wouldn't that make a sweet companion?

I picked up the deathclaw gauntlet, then fast traveled away and brought the egg to Diamond City.

You can still fast travel while he's non hostile

Play2win pointed out there is one near fort Hagen to be nicked (deathclaw egg). Tis true it is easy to miss as theres no deathclaw romping around. ( a bit east of the town sort of near a small pond there is a den with a mu- bear nosing about) it is in a pile that sort of matches the dirt but its there heheh

You could just take the gauntlet and not return the egg to the nest at all.

I personally went to the nest, killed the Deathclaw mother, and just delivered the egg to Diamond City. Of course, made the robot pay a pristine reward of 500 caps for a pristine egg, and of course just to grind the robot's gears (probably literally as well).

My character didn't see any logical reason to return the egg of a Deathclaw to its nest.

There is a raider camp nearby the nest, if you climb on the tower after returning the egg and use the siren, the deathclaw will attack the raiders. It will kill them all, then run up to you but only push some dirt into your face and move on without attacking.

Unfortunately Piper didn't get the message and attacked the Deathclaw afterwards... so be careful with followers.

I did a lap of the glowing sea and came back with 2 or 3 eggs from all of the deathclaws that turn up down there.
