About Ex-Brohood Danse

Post » Fri Jan 15, 2016 7:40 pm

I just saved Danse from his death penalty yesterday and now I'm bringing him for a trip with his status as Ex-BOS.

I'm also aware about the notification that I'll be the enemy of the BOS when he's tagging along.

Today and just now, I visited my Croup-ghoul-ridden-Manor settlement with Danse and an army of BOS came with their Vertibird and attacked us. Killed some of them, but didn't shoot the Vertibird down.

Now the question is:

- Is there any bugs or restriction regarding to this Ex-BOS Danse that may affect my relationship with BOS and Danse permanently?

- I read somewhere that shooting Vertibird down will provoke Ex-BOS Danse into being hostile towards me. Is this true?

Any other tips to fill me in?

Thanks in advance

Hmm...not sure how much I can help, but in my experience nothing negative occurred when we were attacked at random by a BoS Vertibird and blew it up, nor when we killed the Knights and Scribes that rushed at us. I think Danse will only turn on you if you kill a named BoS member (or an innocent civilian/settler of course). And regarding relationship, I know that he will no longer be your companion (but still be able to trade with him) if you side against the Brotherhood for the end-game.

As long as you don't kill any named members like Rhys or Haylen, you don't have anything to worry about. I kill BoS members with Danse all the time in Diamond City, random encounter, and everywhere possible, you'd still be in good standing with the BoS no matter how many nameless members you killed.

That's great. I guess I can relax and enjoy killing unnamed BOS.

Apparently they're now being a [censored] and even attacking me and Danse in my settlement. Freaking bandits.

Yea, I had him in the Castle for a while with its half dozen or so rocket launchers and another half dozen or so heavy laser turrets. A vertibird or two tried to attack. It didn't end well.

As stated above, you can kill as many BOS as you want with Danse, the moment you send him away you're no longer enemies with the BOS. No named character kills.

One thing I'll tell you is not to send him to settlements that are frequented by BOS since he will relentlessly hunt/kill them. If it's the same one you mentioned, that Manor gets BOS flying overhead so often and I had him parked there with a Gatling laser... At some point I went there to discovered probably two dozen dead BOS soldiers and a couple of Vertibirds crashed. I still haven't determined if he wasted a ton of Fusion Cores doing that, mostly because I don't find those hard to come by/purchase. But he might exhaust a ton of ammo if you leave him in a place like that.

The companions won't use your ammo if they're not with you, so you basically have infinite ammo just like with any settler if you give them a powerful gun with 1 ammo (except for nukes).

Yeah, basically. Funny when he yells For the Brotherhood as he proceeds to slaughter them though.

So far I'm loving killing the BOS with Danse - without being actually banished from the BOS. LOLZ

Danse's inventory + BOS PA set loots = Quick wealth

Thank you, Danse.

Companions only burn through ammo if they're your ACTIVE companion. If they're just chillin' wherever you sent them, they only need a single round for their equipped weapon, like any settler.

I gave Danse (chillin @ the castle) an AR and three 5.56 rounds. He's killed at least 10 men with them, so far...

...and those 3 bullets are still in his pocket.

I really feel there needs to be a fix for this in one of the furure DLCs. Either make him a Brotherhood hero that Maxson cannot ignore and welcome him back through a quest or make him leave the area entirely.

Why would you want him leave the area? You don't have to re-recruit him if you don't want him or even kill him and you don't have to place in in BoS frequent areas. I would want Danse to be back to the BoS though, it's annoying to have kamikaze attack everywhere you go.

I don't really. I'd also rather have him back in the Brotherhood, but I think it would be better than just having him mope around one of my settlements or stay isolated in some bunker. Seems like a sad ending for someone that was so dedicated to the Brotherhood.

Besides if he left maybe he'll end up in Fallout 5 as the leader of some small militant group or mayor of a town somewhere.

In regard to ammo use, dismissed companions are the same as any other NPC. If you left Danse with 20 fusion cores, he could lay waste to the entire Commonwealth and still have 20 fusion cores on him.
