Illuminating deeper into the Castle's rooms.

Post » Sat Jan 16, 2016 2:19 am

Greetings,

has anybody worked out how to get lights lit further into a room? In particular, the room I use for my General's bedroom (the one with the meeting table) and the kitchen are both rather dark toward the wall farthest from the door.

I can't string power through the stone (although the original builders were able to :P).

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Cheers.

I have not done a lot of work here, but maybe if you actually go along the outside wall (outside of the castle along the shore)you could cover the whole room in power ?? maybe

Use the power conduits, and install one directly onto the inside of the doorway. If you use a ceiling one at the top of the arch, you should be able to directly string a wire from the wall-mounted conduit above it, and then do the same on the other side. Y'know, if you care about the perception of NPCs walking into high-power electrical conduits.

Do what 2-Caps suggested, find the spot on the outside wall where the room is located, then put a generator and a power pylon or that...item that sticks to a wall, whatever it is called... That's the only way I'd be able to think of powering a light on the inside without clogging up the room with generator smoke.

Thank you for the replies.

I had tried various methods INSIDE but hadn't thought of using the outside wall. That is what I'll try.

Cheers. :)

The ceilings are also rather high in the Castle, like in the Sunshine Co-op, and so the light from the ceiling bulb frequently doesn't reach the walls or floor. Wall-mounted lights would probably have a better effect, but you'll need a few.

You can run power lines through the open doorways.

Thanks, all. I got more light in the kitchen area by using a large pylon at the back. I couldn't get it working in the General's room, though.

As for stringing through the doorway, I've not found a nice way to do that.

Oh well, he hardly has time to spend there anyway. ;)

Cheers.
