What hints are in FO4 about whats next?

Post » Sat Jan 16, 2016 9:53 am

Bethesda has a history of hinting DLC's and future series games within each release. Fallout 3 had several hints of that nature. But having completed FO4 (170 hours) I'm not really remembering a whole lot so I think I may have missed some stuff.

- there are several references to Alaska

- Jack Cabot talks about going to Arizona after you complete that quest

What else have people seen that may be a DLC or sequel hint?

Capital wasteland also is refered quite often , but being arizona quite far from the commonwealth, alaska and washington already been in previous title i suspect there be no actual visible hints, to be honest.

Cabot talks about going to the Mojave, which is barely part of Arizona - and I'm betting that's more of a reference to New Vegas. Not sure where you found references to Alaska, but are they references to the Anchorage campaign that took place before the Great War?

I don't think there are any references to other unvisited locations in Fallout 4. Not any on the east coast, anyway.

Bethesda did a good job avoiding giving hints about the location for 5, though I don't know if it was intentional. I suspect that it'll either be someplace new like the Carolinas or someplace close to the CW like Pittsburgh.

I am quite sure there are hints to the location of Fallout 5 in Fallout 4. Having said that, BGS has in the past been fairly subtle about them, They also have a habit of tossing in some more overt red herrings.

What we need to look for is multiple references to a location in game. If there is only one or two references, chances are we are dealing with a false lead.

I would like to see maybe more of Alaska. After all the Liberation of Anchorage against the Chinese is mentioned in both FO3 and FO4. In fact it was a DLC in FO3 as a virtual simulation. And isn't the male SS or someone in your family line a war hero from that operation?

But yeah I would love to see some anchorage in a future DLC or game. Not simply because I live in Anchorage but because it would be cool. We have mountains, small towns all over that could be turned into something in the game. In real Anchorage we have several military bases including an air force base. There is history along the coastlines. Remains of WWII bunkers as well as wreckage from Japanese attacks. I've actually hiked out of Seward to old WWII military bases and stood on the walls overlooking the ocean. Its pretty cool.

I'd also like to see maybe some parts of Canada. in the game it was taken over by the US and became part of the commonwealth but what really happened there? Was Canada nuked off the map like the rest of the US was?

Lots of potential out there.

Well, there certainly is a LOT of water....... I hoping this first one puts some stuff in it.

I think Cabot, Dunwich and indeed Pickman were all just one shot lovecraft nods I am not sure they will go much futher, Though honestly I was surprised the Abby of the road was completely absent So who knows need someone to balance out the Elder threat, Also I was surprised the remnants (chinese) were not really featured (minus one very neat quest) but maybe there done with that horse.

though i'll also never give up hope for somewhere in europe,

if anything really is indicated, it's quite the other end of the world:

china.

think about it.

fallout universe: war opponent. the yang-tse. officer's swords and remnant soldiers since ye goode olde days

this universe: huge emerging market. gotta be millions of potential players, lots already judging from steam workshop

don't think it'll be fo5. but rather likely for a dlc or even a fnv-like fo4 total conversion
