Good place to farm low level legendaries?

Post » Sat Jan 16, 2016 8:17 am

I am trying to get a wounding sub machinegun, and thus far all of the places I have been told are good places to farm have yielded nothing. I'm thinking it's due to the level of the enemies I am fighting, and that if I were to fight legendaries that are in the level range where the sub machinegun starts spawning I might have better look.

So with that in mind, anyone know of a good place to farm level 10-15 legendaries that is consistent?

No idea how level works, but the Croup Manor basemant seems to be a good place to try and get the legendary weapon you want. Save before opening the door to the basemant, and head in. There's a fairly high chance that one of the three ghouls to the left is a Legendary - the fourth one at the back never is.

If you're on pc, there is a mod that lets you add legendary affixes to weapons. If I recall there are different versions available where this mod has varying costs. I believe in one I was fooling around with you needed 3 thousand caps, some gold, nuclear material, silver, and other rare materials like that. It kept things nice and balanced for me and got me out of trying to farm for legendary affixes I want. Plus it acted as a cap sink since I always ended up with thousands and had no use for them.

level 61, have been playing on survival from the get go, I have been farming legendary weapons for the last 20 hours of game play and have yet to see a single sub machinegun.

Some one found the code as it pertains to legendary weapons spawning, and for a legendary enemy to spawn with a sub machine gun it only needs to be level 10, the enemy I have been farming is level 22.

Unfortunately I am on xbox so I can't just add the prefix.

at that level chances are you have long since done the quest where you have to rescue nick valentine from vault 114. The mobster enemies there carry almost nothing but sub machine guns, would have made for a potential area to farm legendaries. Of course I'm not entirely sure if the weapon they are carrying has a bearing on chance of weapon that drops. Honestly the whole legendary affix thing is stupid. I always end up with tons of legendaries I don't want.

I always end up getting the wrong legendary effect for the wrong weapon. I'd love a 2-shot 44 pistol because of the low ammo in stock, but I got a neverending which would really ruin my stock of ammo even faster. Then I wanted a nevereneding double-barrel shotgun so I can look cool without spending half my life reloading, and I get a 2-shot. Sure, it's nice, but it doesn't address my needs... :(

That mod looks more and more tempting, but I always felt it was just slightly better than using the console to mod your weapon.

I have a two-shot submachinegun in my workshop, although I can't remember if it came from a random legendary drop or not.

I had forgotten, I got an explosive one ( didn't buy it from cricket) randomly during the quest where you kill the courser a while back. You can get them from random drops, but I've only ever got the one.

Try Croup Manor. Not in the basemant, but head down the road and at the end, where the fallen telegraph pole is, go right. There's a scripted flyover from a Vertibird, and usually there's a bunch of raiders that spawn to fight with it. 9 times out of 10 there's a Leg Raider in that bunch. They tend to be lower levels. Once done, fast travel to the other side of the map and come back, and same sequence usually repeats.

Otherwise, try the Nat. Guard Training yard.
