Make 4500 caps from jet

Post » Fri Jan 15, 2016 11:19 pm

You'll need to use the diamond city blues mission for this. Just look it up please...

After completing the diamond city blues mission, stop pail from leaving the drug deal by killing him or sneak into cookes house to find him there and kill him (must wait 24 hours for second option). Loot all the Chems, off his body you should get 60 of each....

Now I know why you're asking "how am I gonna make a lot of caps?, jet is 25 caps each, how am I going to make 4500 caps. It would only be 1500 caps"

Head over to vault 81 and talk to Bobby DeLuca in the reactor room left of the class room. If you havent done the dependency mission he'll buy jet from your for 75 caps each. Just sit there and repeatedly spam your action button until you're all out of jet. (Warning: this could take a while) I suggest using another to device to watch a YouTube video whilst on the side spamming E,A,or X. Don't do this if you have arthritis xD.

And you'll have 4500 caps on top of whatever you got! Then go around an sell all your other chems

I'd feel too bad about selling tons of chems to someone that I later have to try and get off of chems in a quest lol

It would seem entirely too hypocritical for my character, who is mostly out to help people. That's interesting though. I didn't know he'd pay three times as much for it. It must be because they have much more limited resources in Vault 81 than they do on the outside.

That'd make me feel even worse about it...lol

And if that's the case, you'd also lose the option of recruiting Tina De Luca and Holt Combs to one of your settlements.

I was wondering why I've never done that particular mission. :P

You should have a lot of unused plastic. Fertilizer is produced daily by Brahmin plus what you find at places like Graygarden and Greentop. Just craft Jet. You'll get XP and have enough to sell to the traders. What they do with it after that doesn't concern you.

Why so complicated? First, the mission gives you 60 of each chem, which is much more in any case. Secondly, producing jet at yoiu own chem station really isn't a miracle. Plastic and fertilizer is all you need. High charisma, boosted gear and downing a bottle of beer before the transaction will earn you more without any cheesing.

Will he continue to buy jet indefinitely? Can I go back to my settlement and make more jet and come back and sell him even more?

I almost wish there was some kind of "immersion" mod that modeled some sort of "downside" to magically changing in and out of outfits :P just so I didn't feel like I was "cheating."

Doesn't matter, those npc's are bugged for most people anyway.

It's not like money is too hard to come by. I would rather spend my time harvesting and selling crops and purified water while visiting settlements and keep the jet for myself. Lol

I don't need the caps bad enough to become a drug dealer. Now I don't have a problem being a drug supplier and selling to vendors. My moral compass is a little shaky.

You may get a comment from a Mod for the bump. Check the rules my new forum friend :)

Besides, there is no need to bump really, these forums are active. You will see your thread migrate to the second page because of all the other active threads, but rest assured we are all looking at new content on the first few pages.

Good topic, though. Do you know if you can go and sell him jet more than once?

Yeah this. Plus(and I may be wrong here) but if your selling jet to that bloke, don't you have to go through the dialogue for every individual unit of jet? Is that not a bit tedious?

I earn more than that with water purifier, and I don't have to click constantly, purified water give you more money each trip, you can keep the chem for yourself, you don't have a failed quest, and you can recruit Tina.

If Tina doesn't bug out on you. Which she did in both of my recruitment attempts. Known bug, actuallly, since it makes the rounds on the web.

But you're right. Setting up an array of water purifiers at each suitable location puts drug selling to shame. Nevertheless I produce them at Sanctuary to sell them on. Just not to Tina's brother, but mainly to my local shops.

Meh, I don't need caps. I have pre-war money and the exchange rate is 4 caps for every bill. Aside from building stores and maybe a house in DC, caps have no value.

They are bugged for a lot of people, but not for everyone. I managed to successfully recruit both of them in my first play through. I haven't gone to Vault 81 yet in my current play through, so we'll see. I got stuck with a bug preventing me from sending Curie to a settlement in my first play through though, so I'm hoping it doesn't happen this time. Given a choice, I'd take the bugged NPCs over the bugged Curie lol

Honestly selling water is easier. Mass producing jet is a viable option, but producing jet requires buying resources in the first place. I'm currently producing I believe 660 water at Sanctuary. I produce so much of it that I can't even sell all of it by going around to every vendor in the game, including my own numerous vendors. I have a stock pile of like 6000 units of water in a steamer trunk right now. To produce jet you have to buy the shipments. Water farming is a one time expense. Build the generators and the water purifiers, and all that's left to do is clear the water out of your work bench once a day (because the water doesn't stack from day to day in the workbench). I don't think there are going to be any more profits from selling jet than you are from producing water. Namely because with a proper water farm you produce so much of it that you can't even sell it all.

I make and sell drugs for the experience. Also the high. Is their anything more sweet than a hit of Ultra-Jet and Overdrive just as you head into a new location, and then when the combat ensues, some Psychojet and maybe some Calmex or X-cell? Top it off with a bit of Med-x to soften the hits and soon enemy heads will be exploding like paint-filled pinatas.

Substitute "class" for "location" and you just described college for me.

I wish there was a bigger downside to drug addiction. I mean, addictol? Or even easier, the refreshing beverage? It shouldn't be this easy to be cranked up all the time.
