Extreme loading times

Post » Sat Jan 16, 2016 2:21 pm

When I now tested the Beta I've got extreme loading times. Both when loading the game and within the game (i.e. fast movement). This was not the case before the Beta. This unfortunate make the game unplayable, so I must opt out this Beta.

I hope that when the real patch is coming out, that this is not going to be an issue.

Edit: I should mention that I am not using any mods or anything else for that matter - just the plain game as is.

for crying out loud!!!!!! this is insane!!!!! what did u do Bethesda with this Fallout 4 1.3 Beta Update???

loading a saved game takes arround 3-4 minutes!!!!!!! and the loading that occurs when you fast travel takes more than 10 MINUTES(don't know exactly because i didn't had the nerve to wait SO MUCH)!!!! it's unbelievable!!! quoting Cate : is this a joke??? it has to be a joke!!!

Even 15 years ago a game didn't took so much to load!!!

Yeah, same here - extremely long load times, both initially loading the game and on fast-travel.

When I say extremely long, I mean as below.

I've timed these just now with a stopwatch.

So there's no perception bias here - these are accurate times, rounded to the nearest second.

Initial load, in Sanctuary: 1 minute 34 seconds. FWIW, the loading-screen rotating model took 54 seconds to show up.

Fast travel to diamond city market from Sanctuary straight after above load: 3 minutes 57 seconds. The model took 3 minutes 48 to show up.

For context, prior to this beta, loading took typically 10 to 20 seconds, and very occasionally up to 30 seconds.

So, ridiculous loading times - I might have to reverse out the Beta as well to preserve the little bit of sanity I have left.

Extreme loading times:

Game directory is located on a Samsung 840 EVO SSD.

With new patch: save game (about 87 gameplay hours, save size: 11 MB) loaded in about 2 minutes (measured with a stopwatch).

After rolling back: the same save game loaded in about 22 seconds.

Same here, loading times are magnitudes longer. Even just the time before loading screen model shows up is longer than the total loading time compared to previous patch.

Maybe posting system specs will help the devs to figure out what causes the long loading times.

Motherboard: ASUS Rampage IV GENE in a Corsair Carbide 500R chassis
