Played Fallout4 for 3hours, saved the game. Upon return, no loaded games to play. but start page(Steam) says 2% progress. Only option is new game. Anyone else had this problem?

Anything under C:\Users\xxx\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\Saves (where xxx is your login name)?

Steam may be syncing the game files (guess from 2% progress comment). I would wait until you don't have an active download (on Steam).

Nothing under C:/users. other games there but nothing for Fallout 4.

Check the folder security permission. Even if the saves folder is missing when you start the game, the game will create the folder and store any save files in the folder.

Fallout would have made a folder for the ini files when you launched it. Otherwise the game would not have run. You using the same PC user name?


System restore and such may have removed them. Either way you did something or your PC did something that deleted that folder.


Do a search on your PC for anything called Fallout 4.

Done that, just desktop file and apps no game files. also deleted and reloaded game, still the same

I think a visit to the game shop for another disc would be the smart option

No point, its a Steam game. As long as the code registered correctly.


The disc doesn't have the entire game anyway.

There should be a saves folder in there with save files in it.

There may be an issue with the cloud. GO to Steam library and right click FO4. Select properties and click tthe update tab.

Uncheck the Steam cloud option at the bottom.

STart a new game and make a save. Exit. Check the saves folder.

No file for fallout 4 in "my games", Tried unchecking steam cloud still the same.

No Fallout4 folder in my games?
