Weapon changing damage

Post » Sat Jan 16, 2016 9:34 pm

I killed an albino legendary rad scorpion and got a legendary baseball bat that was insane, 230 damage, more than anything I have right now, so I was excited, I had it equiped and did a quest then fast travelled around once or twice and then the damage had changed to 22, I was thinking this is some crap, so I reloaded and tried to do what I had done again, checking the bat frequently, the first time I fast travelled it dipped again down to 183 and didn't after that, but I wanted to know whats causing this and if I can stop it. I really want to keep it at 230.

Use multiples at the same time? Yeah, but why would that effect the initial damage of the bat on pick up, chems don't affect the damage displayed on the rest of my weapons as far as I know.

Edit: It totally does, I had no idea. That explains why it went down to 183, but not why it went down to 22, what could that be?

Edit Edit: I did some testing, using any chems except for buffout is fine, but when I use buffout the bats damage goes down to 22 and stays that way even after the buffout wears off.

Does anyone have an explanation for why this happened, I lost the bats damage its all down to 22 and I have another weapon that I thought was a high damage one, but its sank as well.
