Exclamation marks and crash issues

Post » Sat Jan 16, 2016 7:36 am

Hello everyone, my friend recently got her new computer (workstation) and asked me to find her some games that she should play. So, I installed her Fallout 4 and I've had some issue in getting the game working properly. At first, I couldn't get the game to start with higher than low settings, it would crash while loading a game. Then, once we got passed the character creation with the low settings, inside the house were those huge exclamation marks inside a red triangle in the kitchen and in the hallway. We continued, to see if it was only in the house, but when we got in the bunker, there were also some there. After that, we got in the cinematic after entering the cryo pod and the game crashes like when we were rising the graphics settings.

We have some screenshots, but I can't seem to post links...

Anyway here are the specs of the computer:

CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1271 @3.6GHz

GPU: nVidia Quadro K4200

32GB DDR3 1600

She's looking forward to play the game, thanks for the help.

Yup. Some files are probably missing. Same thing happens in other Bethesda games if it tries to load a file that isn't where it needs to be.

Most probably it's a missing mesh.

Also a bad idea to choose an Quadro for fallout 4, but well...

Anyway download the latest drivers at least.

Will do, the computer wasn't intended for gaming, more for animation and modeling.
