Fallout 4's story is miles ahead of Fallout 3's story IMO.

Logically constructed, the characters are not cardboard cut-outs and no killing thousands of Enclave soldiers because reasons.

Yup, linearity in FO3 was just.... too much.

Not just that. So much cringe, especially with Broken Steel. I just felt that Bethesda wanted more explosions without a solid constructed reason why.

Not impressed by either. But then again, it is bethesda, so I know from the get go, that story isn't their strong suite, world building is. Altho, I do really wish, they would hire some good writers and plot-makers. Quests are, except a select few, not memorable at all. Often I find myself thinking "that's it?" When there is so much more potential to be had *sigh* It is like they go "hey, cool locations we made there, now we need to stuff something in there so they will be used" It is like inventing music to an already made text, instead of having great music and then invent the text to it "Music should be able to speak for itself first and foremost, and the text support it, not the other way around!" (this is just my humble opinion so take it for what it is)

Because Vegas is not a dweller story, just some business went wrong.

Miles better than Fallout 3, and not that much worse than New Vegas. I would rate it good, and i like the ending, which is important to me because games usually have crappy endings.

EDIT - It also made me feel, which is a huge plus to any game.

Eeeeh I can see a debate made against the two. Fallout 4 was more direct in showing every faction had it's good and bad sides whereas Caesar's Legion was over the top bad-guy and wildcard was to much of an unknown to make any real impact after you beat it (at least in my opinion). I wouldn't say NV shines with it's main story (especially with the whole "Go make allies or destroy someone we don't like" arc of it where it was just sending you to do side-quests) but rather it's side-content.

On Fallout 4's story, I liked it. It had some pretty good moments though still had some weakness, it wasn't bad but I wouldn't necessarily say it was perfect. It was surprisingly decently good and I enjoyed how factions were handled in the game, though I think MM needed more flavor in it's side-quests.

NV did things better with its main story, like the Q&A sessions with Mr House and Caesar and skill checks galore. So that's why I'd say it's better. Still, Fallout 4 is moving in the correct direction for the most part.
