Bit overly dramatic about corruption. It is true most big review sites are garbage, but I don't think the video game industry is as bad relative to other media as people make it out to be.
It's also just a fact that making pretty trailers and hyping a game works better than making a better game that's not as shiny. But...movies are the same way.
Game devs are always going to be divided between those willing to risk more and make less to make a better game for a smaller and more discerning/niche audience, and those who aim for safer mass appeal from creating a more typical AAA experience.
Bethesda seems to be going the latter direction(more voice acting, bigger scripted events, flashier gameplay in general), but they don't have a big enough team for it so it ended up like a weird unpolished version of a linear Bioware-lite AAA game with awful writing and dialogue thrown into Bethesda's standard world style. Which is still fun to dink around with, but it's just not GotY material.
