What actually does the "+" mean? What makes it special from the normal one?

I thought it was going to be modifiable by Ballistic Weave, but not.

It means it's supposedly better than what you've currently got equipped.


It might not always be the case on closer inspection, for reasons like rate of fire, armor type, whatever. But at a glance

Doesn't take dps into consideration, so don't just equip it because it tells you it's better (might not be).

I saw a few items with the + beside them but I thought it just means u already got that same exact item because everyone I saw I had one in my inventory already.
