you already get more than I do for the BigBoy...

High CHA and CHA boosting clothes and drugs...

also the cap collector perk helps as well I think..

I'm not sure what it takes to get actual value from stuff, if its even possible..

Charisma primarily will increase selling price, and decrease buying price. There are various boosters in the form of clothing, alcohol or chems that will increase your charisma temporarily. Also, there is a perk, but I don't feel it is worth taking.

3k for a 5k+ item is pretty damn good. In fact, I'd say you're robbing the poor schmuck at that.

It's based on charisma. As I understand, when you have a charisma rating of 16 you'll get the best possible prices. I don't know if you'll ever actually get the full 'value' of it that you see in the stats.

Leveling up your charisma through your perk points is obviously a way to get higher charisma. But wearing charisma boosting clothing also helps. I have a +5 charisma outfit. Reginald's Suit (+3), trilby hat (+1), and black-rim glasses (+1). One can also use the 'sharp' armor pieces with the green fatigues and combat boots or whatever it is to get up to +8 charisma from an outfit. Graqe mentats are always an option as well. Those grant an additional +5 charisma for 8 minutes.

Yeah...my character has a CHA of 11, with Agatha's Dress, glasses and a Newsboy Hat it's 16. Taking chems on top of that doesn't lower the prices any so 16 is probably the upper limit.

Short answer: you don't.

Long answer: While prices can fluctuate significantly based on Charisma, Cap Collector, and collectible items, the game actually has a cap on how much money you can get when selling an item. This cap is 0.8x base value. If your total bonuses would result in a higher sell price, the game ignores your skill and uses the 0.8x multiplier. This means that you will never get full value when selling items to a vendor. The most you'll ever be able to get for that 5500 cap item is 4400 caps.

Also, 16 Charisma is the Cap for the best buy and sell prices using only Charisma. With both ranks of Cap Collector, the Barter Bobblehead, and all 8 issues of Tales of a Junktown Jerky Vendor, that drops to 10. So 11 Charisma is your end-game goal if you are taking the time to get all of those (11 Charisma ensures you always pass Speech Checks). The only reason to push your Charisma past 11 is so you can have more Settlers per settlement. So while Charisma is more useful than in previous games, it's effective cap is lower than other stats,at least for anything your character does themselves.

..speaking of CHR, is there any other piece of clothing that gives more than 3 CHR like Reginald's suit?

I couldn't find anything. I'm using this suit (+3), a formal hat (+1) and black-rim glasses (+1).

Best possible Charisma bonus is actually +8, but it's difficult to get. The set you're using isn't as high, but it's much easier to get your hands on.

To get +8, you need:

Sharp Legendary Right Arm

Sharp Legendary Right Leg

Sharp Legendary Left Arm

Sharp Legendary Left Leg

Black-Rimmed or Fashionable Glasses

Any Hat with +1 Charisma

That gives +6, but we haven't filled the Body slot yet. There, you have two choices:

Summer Shorts - easier to get, but rather ugly, and adding armor doesn't really mesh with the look of the Summer Shorts.

OR

Sharp Legendary Chest AND Green Shirt and Combat Boots - Should look a lot better, but now you need 5 Legendary items instead of 4.

Overall, the +8 Charisma outfit is useful, but it's also incredibly hard to get. The outfit you're using provides an excellent Charisma boost without being prohibitively hard to get your hands on, so I'd stick with that instead of trying to get the absolute highest Charisma boost you can get.
