Raider Warlord DLC

Post » Sat Jan 16, 2016 6:06 pm

I've seen quite a few people say they would like to play as a raider on the open map and I also think this would add to some really fun game play, but I would like a complete alternate start of the game for it. I'm no programmer so I have no idea how viable all this would be, but here are a few ideas I'd like to see. Please feel free to add your own ideas for it or just to tell me heck no, it'll never work, but please explain why.

1. Alternate start - you begin the game in a military bunker captured by slavers - they plan on selling you.

2. You are an enemy of the Minutemen. Preston and his gang automatically go about setting up Sanctuary and start recruiting and building other settlements.

3. Scatter several raider bases around the map that are neutral with the ability to either conquer, ally with or join your faction.

4. You can capture settlers to work on your settlements.

Would this not be entertaining?!!

This is for a modder to do, not Bethesda

I don't think it would make sense storywise since not only the Minutemen, but the Institute and especially the Brotherhood of Steel would want to work with you, by extension, the RR wouldn't work either since it would require you to work with the Institute. I'm not too keen on them writing a whole new scenario and ending for raiders instead of fixing the mess of the existing factions.

Fallout DLC is supposed to be for all players not just a minority of players that like a certain style. Since the more players that want to play the DLC means more money. How the game is set up makes a Broken Steel-style DLC difficult to do. This idea sounds more like something that belongs in a patch or something that modders will have to work on.

they should have just gave the option to be able to join the raiders, and gunners, right from the start without putting it in a DLC..I am also not a programmer so I have no idea if it would be doable, or if that would change too much of the original game..

I still voted yes...but without the please.. :P

Would love this, you have both the Slaver and Raider nations listed. Bethesda one of a small number of gripes I have is not being able to be truly bad or evil in this fallout. For the life of me I do not know why we could not side with the Raiders when we got to Preston. Or how they just left the Slaver nation 100% out... *Sigh*

Yes. Need more like this and less good guy stuff.

Will say I think I know why they did not put those options in though, they where wanting to tell a very specific story, and they used a Voiced Player character... Neither of those are good Meta game. But Eh. We can edit them out, I just hope they do not do a voiced player character again.

The problem is... what is there to raid? There's only two cities, Covenant, that's it. All the settlements wouldn't exist if we became a raider. So we would be left to attack other raider bases and super mutant camps... which we already do. The game would have to be completely redone for this to work. The idea is nice, just not feasible for a DLC, IMO.

I probably wouldn't do anything with it if it was a side-thing in a dlc but yea, sounds like a cool idea.

No, because the DLC we get for this game that is story driven should be the continuation or a seperate story for the Sole Survivor. Not a new start to the game or anything like that. Would i like to see more choices in these DLC's that add to what would be considered Evil karma, yes i do. I do not however feel like Bethesda should waste resources on things like this. I am interested in the story of the Sole Survivor and that is what makes sense to make and what most people want (i assume).

Settlements - make them pay tribute take some of them as slaves, or wipe them all out and gain just the resources they have on hand. As far as citys, there is ofc diamond city, Sanctuary, The combat zone, The race track, Covenant, Vault 81, then there is the institute, The Prydwen/Airport The setup is already here for this, only thing missing is voice acting for the raiders/slavers and the option to join there factions.

That's kind of the point. It's a different story in the same world. You are not the Sole Survivor. You are some wasteland wanderer that ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time. You might even hear about a vault dweller looking for their child on the radio.

Would be good to have as long as not requiring a start-over.

I've heard their talks during the fight and I'd want to hear the story why they became raiders, instead of joining the Minutemen.

Perhaps raiders have their own small groups. This is what I want to see from their perspective by letting me join them
