MinuteMen Alterations

Dear Bethesda

As a fellow addict of the Fallout 4 I feel it is my duty to report the negative side effects, the most notable: X town in under attack.

I understand the underlying logic of the minutemen in history and in the game, they are supposed to be ready to help at a moment's notice, unfortunately there are several problems with this.

First is the notifications. The notification is sometimes hard to see during battle, a speech segment, or breaking down/modding items. A larger font, maybe a ring notification off the Pip-boy would help a lot.

Second is that preparation does not matter. I spent my first two characters DECKING out settlements with towers, sentries, walls, tesla bombs.....and nothing. I cannot leave the settlement to defend for itself, even though by all rights it has the ability to repel an army of Deathclaws, and when I finally see that the town is under attack either through the Failed notification or that when I wander into the settlement on my own and everything is laid to waste by some unseen force, the motivation to build out settlements is negated. Hence my third character who only builds out Red rocket and contains only companions to harvest resources as I know they cannot die and limited sentries as it makes no difference. Placing the settlement notification on the top of our Mission list as opposed to under Misc. would help greatly.

Third is the relative 24 hour clock. Again, I understand the theory behind the timeframe of helping a settlement, but as a gamer this becomes increasingly annoying if I am running a longer main story mission and I have to drop everything to help. This could be just me as well, but I notice the frequency of attacks seems to spike if I increase the difficulty, another point that makes wonder what the use is of playing the game on a harder level or after I complete one of the main story lines. The removal of the 24 period would help greatly.

Fourth is the building out of defenses. I know I am beating a dead horse on this one, but loving the Second Life aspect you have created in Fallout loses it's appeal if the defenses I created do not actually work. I am unsure on suggestions to help this aspect as there is simply some formula in place if you do not reach the settlement in time to destroy X number of items.

I play on console so community Mods are of no use, yet. And I get the feeling that even when they are they will be severely limited. Please help us Obi-1, you are our only hope....
