Cait with a makeover (SLM command)

Post » Sun Jan 17, 2016 2:27 am

Cait got a makeover with the SLM command. Nothing but her makeup and hair were changed. Has anybody had any issues using this console command? So far it's worked flawlessly for me.

I changed Cait and MacCready (he looks really different now, much wilder) with showlooksmenu to make them more pretty and I had no problems so far other than the guy or gal walking out of my view during the process.

I had problems to use the menu to change settlers. Sometimes commands do not work, for example I was unable to change the ugly beard of a guy. Although I don't like beards shooting him might have been a bit of a overreaction (or not?), so I gave him an assault mask instead. Don't know why sometimes the command works and sometimes not.

LOL! Yes I had the same problem with settlers. It seems to work fine with all the unique characters. I tried "washing" the dirt off some of the settlers faces in sanctuary to no avail. I figured with all the clean water they could...well clean up a bit. Apparently they are unable to do anything for themselves. I won't even ask them about the bathroom situation.

The purified water is strictly for drinking. My MacCready who runs around partly naked is really dirty for this sad reason, I also added dirt to his face. I still did not get the method to make the body dirtier. Not necessary for MacCready who seems to have had his last washing before he left the capital, but necessary for Cait who is too clean.

I'll take the vanilla Cait over that any day. That barely even looks like Cait anymore.

Well to each his own. I was just demonstrating how different one could look with a simple slm command. Like I said, I didn't change any features or the body size. It's Cait.

i'd be a bit careful with that command. i ended up with the default nora face for a settler out of the sudden, even though i didn't change her face at all

I gave Danse a scar and a beard using that slm command. And aftar Cait's personal quest I gave her a less raggy hair style. It worked out nicely. I tried to give Curie (synth body) different hair but it wouldn't take.

I haven't been able to make the command work on settlers at all. And all I wanted to do was remove the grime from their faces.

As to having them walk away during the process, you can turn off their AI (tai in the console) first so they will behave.

the settlers are leveled (= templated) actors. you'd need to access their template actors to change their appearance.
