If you could recruit 3 new companions...

Post » Sat Jan 16, 2016 5:54 pm

Hey there,

My friends and I was discussing about Fallout 4, and started a "if you..." game. Mostly stupid scenarios, but we had a lot of fun and discussion when we put:

"If you could recruit 3 new companions, that in the original game are only "static" NPCs, who would be? Why? Would you like to romance them?"

Well, I've decided to bring it to this forum. Maybe we can discuss a little bit and have some fun like we had. So, what you guys think? Let's try... Mine would be:

Proctor Ingram (BoS member in Prydwen)

Scribe Haylen (BoS member in Cambridge Police Station)

Dr. Duff (at the "Science!" Laboratories, Diamond City)

They are all intelligent and beautiful ladies, with fun personalities. Romance them all!

Keep in mind that your new companion have to be able to enter in buildings with you, so, no Liberty Prime...

Hope you like.

Ronnie Shaw. I find her to be a kindred spirit.

Romancing her though, probably not. Her calling cadence in bed would be mood breaking. :nope:

Cricket with a syringer is my dream. And something about her running around in a PA gets me hot.

Let's see, with no restriction:

Maxson (Would be cool to see his point of views on different issues. Definitely romanceable, he's one sixy bear)

Lorenzo Cabot (A psychic companion would be cool, also, it's nice to have more evil companions)

Rosalind Orman (Cool weapon crazy female. It would be fun to bring her around. Definitely romanceable)

Hmm, I'd love to have Zeke and KLEO as a companion....not sure about romancing KLEO though. Third would be a tie between Ronnie Shaw and Proctor Ingram. Maxson too!

Glory with the RR. That voice, that attitude. Just love it. Romance yes. Prove to me you're just like a real girl honey.

Rowdy with the Atom Cats. Former Raider gal. Romance yes.

Synth gorilla with the Institute (BioScience). Why ... cause it's a freaking gorilla that's why. Romance ... HaHaHaHa ...

KL-E-O would be a great companion. We could hang out, bake cookies and discuss different assassination techniques. :D

So far I can only think of Haylen and maybe Glory. Haven't encountered many other named NPCs who strike me as an interesting companion yet.

Cricket just for her lines

Lorenzo Cabot so we can see more

Settlers - we should have the option to take on one settle at a time who can level under our wing.

KLEO, Glory and either a Kent who would have accepted to be The Silver Shroud or Fahrenheit.

I was disappointed that we couldn't recruit Fahrenheit as a companion. I'd much rather traverse the wasteland with her, than the bacon faced monstrosity we get instead.

KL-E-O would be a great companion with her calm and sweet voice, a little bit sixy, saying stuff about murder.

Cricket would be my 2nd choice, we need more crazy companions.

Would love to have Maxson as a companion too

I agree with a lot of what has already been said: KL-E-O will be the HK of the Fallout world; Scribe Haylen; Glory or let's change things a bit that old lady at the Castle that gives you the artillery (forget her name) she seems like the toughened leather soldier. :)

Forget the static NPCs - I go for the mods. Willow and/or Mirai or Delilah for a start. One of the first real mods will be multiple followers.

then you will have to wait for the mod that stops them all getting in the way and complaining you're picking up junk, every 5 seconds :P

At least, the New Vegas' system of "one person and one dog/eyebot" would fit pretty well!

For me, it would be Scribe Haylen (who definitely needs to be romancable), Cricket, and Hawthorne. I was honestly surprised that there weren't any quests including Scribe Haylen. I wouldn't say that she's a 'core' character of the game, but she is one of the more important secondary characters of the game. She has engagable dialog at several points and she appears as a character in a couple of quests like Liberty Reprimed and Blind Betrayal. Cricket is just an all around amusing character. She's obsessed with guns, and I'd love to see how good of a shot she is. I figured Hawthorne would be recruitable or at least involved in some quests when I first met him. He was one of the first people I encountered in Diamond City, and I assumed that it was a scripted encounter that you were supposed to have shortly after entering Diamond City for the first time. He gives advice on how to survive in the wasteland and he's equipped well for combat. I kept waiting for a quest involving him to start, and it just never did.

Cricket is a vendor, so I can understand her not being recruitable or involved in other quests, but including at least a couple of quests with Scribe Haylen and Hawthorne seem like obvious things to include to me. A simple way to include Scribe Haylen in quests would be to just have her accompany you on the Quartermastery quests. Instead of her just saying "go find this piece of tech" it would be more like providing her with backup/protection while she acquires the piece of tech. She wouldn't even necessarily need to be taken on as an official 'companion' on these quests (i.e. you do not need to dismiss your current companion for her to accompany you). Hawthorne could be made into a radiant quest source. He appears to be a mercenary of sorts, and mercenary quests is one of the things that FO4 lacks. I'd love to be able to periodically go talk to Hawthorne and help him out with his mercenary work.

Sturges - He is the only one from Concord worth saving. Dude is cool, something of a tech geek, and would fit right in with the Atom Cats.

Scribe Haylen - She just has the right attitude and is interesting to me.

KLEO - A homicidal robot with that sixy voice... whats not to like?

I am no-where finished with the game, so I haven't met everyone yet. I have to agree that Glory would be a really good choice. I would like to travel with Brandis

Spoiler
BOS quest

and agree Sturges would be cool to have along.
