Oops, supposed to be 'STRANGE FIX for CTD? and other bugs noticed - forgot the question mark.
So, CTD when approaching Wilson's Atomatom Factory from Neponset or from when approaching from a Sentry Bot at a memorial from the East - CTD just after passing East of Wilson's Atomatom Factory. Instant CTD. Slog already discovered and Arlen Glass completed by giving him his tape - missed the quest.
Blew 12 hours of gameplay after reloading to earlier save in the hopes of fixing the issue following workarounds posted elsewhere. Did not fix CTD. Started mapping out the affected area and found I could go into Wilson's Atomatom Factory. Cleared Super Mutants. Cleared Wilson Atomatom Factory. Could pick up the fusion core, but a few steps pass that and CTD. Approaching back wall of factory and CTD.
Decided to approach from Quincy - first had to clear it by entering from the bus with the two laser triggers and missile launcher trap. Cleared Quincy. Completely. Met The Peabody's. Approached Wilson Atomatom Factory from The Peabody's and Quincey. No CTD. Everything is fine.
At this stage, I went back to The Slog and picked up the quest from Arlen Glass. Re-cleared Wilson's Atomatom Factory. No CTD. Completed quest. No CTD.
This morning, I was escorting Billy to his parents, The Peabodies, passing just East of The Quincy Quarry. CTD. Reloaded, turned on some multi-threading with commands mentioned elsewhere (thanks, Reddit). Skirted Quincy on the side of the bus with the two laser triggers and missile launcher trap, which respawned (free missile launcher, again). Delivered Billy to his parents. And picked up the caps from Bullet before executing him. Approached Quincy and killed a few Gunners and an Assualtron. No CTD. **Have not tested fully to see if CTD persistes, will test later.
Thoughts:
1. Arlen Glass quest completed both times. Doesn't he occupy Wilson's Atomatom Factory after handing him is tape or completing his quest? Change in environment causing CTD? Haven't checked to see if he has left The Slog.
2. What was it about clearing Quincy? Did clearing Quincy even affect the unknown reason for the CTD?
3. Close enough to The Quincy Quarry to see the Raiders, before CTD.
4. Is it something about the` Gunners (Quincy) and/or Raiders (Quarry) and the programming that is causing CTD?
OTHER BUGS:
1. Valentine was permanently injured. Shot him. Stimpacked him. Back to his old self.
2. BoS is here before completing Reunion. 'Duty or Dishonor' quest is active. How? I went through Boston Airport ruins and into the garage, picked up a Protectron thanks to Robotics, blew away some Ghouls (recommend Crippling Legendary if one can get lucky enough to have one drop - for taking care of ghouls - they can't hit you while on their bottom or without legs), took an elevator down, and ended up in luggage. Encountered the door to the outside, picked it, exited, went back in. After awhile fooling around inside, with multiple ghoul spawns, found the Airport Employee ID Card and the BoS body, decided to exit after picking up some goodies - minor loot. Went to exit through the door - relocked and inaccessible - needed a key. No way out. Not even the elevator I entered in - goes back up to the floor above and stays there. Researched the bug, used 'unlock' command. Waiting to see if Ghouls will respawn and BoS will die, aboveground in the terminal area.
*Could be retextures are replacing original textures and allowing entry.
Decided to do some fooling around. Bethesda needs to lock the elevator doors in the elevator shaft in the terminal where the keycard is required. Used power armor and jetpack to jump up to the second floor elevator doors (interesting game physics, Bugthesda and could open it. Lead to outside the regular game environment. Walked down to the bathrooms and can drop into the luggage terminal.
3. Preston gave me a Radiant Quest to clear Sunshine Tidings Co-Op. Did that game-weeks ago. Used 'completequest' to avoid having to assassinate both of my settlers there - which, strangely enough, were the targets, complete with markers - maybe they are turning into ferals. Yes, I control and still do, Sunshine Tidings Co-Op. Before the quest, during the quest, and after the quest. Even if I am being a slum-lord.
4. Preston does some weird dance with his gun, complete with contortions that would make an Olympic gymnast blush. How the spine can move like that is beyond understanding and physics - without severe injury and a lifetime in a wheelchair (would be an interesting mod for Preston - even shooting from his wheelchair).
5. Vault-Tec Rep is my ghoul slave at my Trading Emporium. I still keep asking if he wants a job when talking to him to trade. Can trade however. Think he has the hots for me as he keeps mentioning my 'smooth skin'.
6. Thicket Excavations had a texturing issue, low-res block textures that character would fall through to reach the underlying, normal textures. Mysteriously cleared up. Could be the hi-res retexture mod that is running but nothing has changed - other than possibly an update. Thank you.
7. Bodies and settlements. Can't get rid of the damn bodies. Health hazard! Some bodies disappear from settlements, some? Do not. Most notoriously, the Raider and Dog lying dead in front of the bridge to Sanctuary. Known issue, however. Some settlements will clear, others do not. Hesitate to use 'disable' and 'markfordelete'... any thoughts?
8: Jetpack is wimpy with no steering. Not really a bug.

We all have to thank Bugthesda for delivering another excellent game - if repleat with bugs and game breaking bugs and issues. Without Bugthesda, many would never discover the joys of the console and modding (and programming mods) their games to fix the issues, which - Biblically speaking;
