Just a side note, your humanoid companions can use power armor without using up fusion cores. You need to put a core in that has some juice, but it will never deplete as long as the companion is in it.
I usually put my early companions in power armor like garvey, piper, etc. and then I'll use my own power armor just for really tough content.
And yes you will get TONS of cores later on. On my main playthrough I have my companion in full max upgraded t60 with the stealth boy upgrade so that they don't aggro enemies before I want them too. The companion also uses a gatling laser and I put like 20 fusion cores on her =P
Yeah. My level 70 char has 170 of them. Not a PA user, obviously.
