Who manufactured assaultrons?

Post » Sun Jan 17, 2016 8:40 pm

In a certain place if you read a terminal, it says it was not robco, and was unlike anything the guy had seen before. And it's not the institute, even though I thought it was, there's a certain place where assaultrons are inside things like protrectrons, and must have been pre-war.

So where did these bad boys come from?

One of the loading screens says it was the pre-war U.S. military that build them. Probably a DARPA-style project, judging by the death beam.

I'd still rather believe that a dangerous powerful fem-bot was a product of Japan.

chinese invader-bots. Cool though, thanks. A bit of a let down that it's not a more exotic explanation.

It'd be either RobCo or General Atomics.

Some sadistic SOB. Used to hate them, but now my Staggering Combat Rifle makes short work of them. Same as everything else, really. Love that gun.

Since they like to run at you, they're what those frag mines were made for. If you sneak up one, open up with a grenade to cripple it's legs.

Liberty Prime is the most funnest robot evah!

I think that terminal might be referring to a modded version of the Assaultron? Or, since he wasn't familiar with the robot at all it might have been a classified project by the US military that didn't see a full roll-out before the bombs fell. Assaultrons seem significantly advanced compared to all other robots - I get the strangest feeling they were predecessors to the earliest model of synth, with their AI and body structure. They're already more advanced than the Gen 1 synth, although the synths can be mass-produced on a much larger scale.

That's one way to do it. I prefer more elegant approach as I sneak up (stealth boy) onto them and hack them. Fun!

I'm rolling with idiot savant, so no hacking in the future for me. Cool way to do it though.

On the topic of hacking the lower your intellegince the more dud words appear this might have been in since fo3 but Im just noticing it now and the opposite is true for higher intelligence.

Probably the DIA, they made ballistic weave and have hidden doors you open by having a key card in your possession that look like regular walls and PAM from the Railroad says they were the most advanced branch of government because their job was to find more advanced technology than the Chinese who invented stealth suits and electric swords like in the Fallout 3 expantion. So they probably came up with the concept for assaultrons.

It is also likely that they were only in the early production stage when the bombs hit because their are very few of them in Boston and none are present in Washington DC or New Vegas which are major cities so it was most likely the DIA who was not mentioned in either of those cities and most likely only operated in Massachusetts somewhere. Where as RobCo may have gotten plans from the DIA and started producing them in Boston they most likely did not come up with it themselves because they have major production plants in both Washington and New Vegas and did not produce any in either of the cities that they had their offices and production plants.

Unless of course RobCo had massive recalls of assautrons in both washington and New Vegas but did not get to Boston which is the only way they would not be present in RobCo offices in New Vegas and Washington even if they were in the early development stage they would want to show off their new product as much as possible to any potential businesses partners.

The DIA is a good bet. Or some other branch of the military.

Someone who felt the RobCo protectron and Securitron models needed a female counterpart. Because why not, right?

With the way they flip and move, I like to think the boobs on them are where the gyroscopes are kept.

lol... I actually got that pic from the Fallout 4 Wiki.

It says some use stealth. I think I'm in trouble if I ever run into one of those. :o
