Atomatoy factory ID card nowhere to be found.

Post » Sun Jan 17, 2016 11:49 pm

Don't know if anyone else has had this problem. I cleared out the factory, searched everywhere, could not find the ID card to open the door and finish the mission.

Looked for an online guide, thinking maybe I missed something, somehow. Everyone shows the ID card being on the desk on the second floor. I looks on the desk, just as shows in screencaps and videos, it's not there. Looked around, under, behind the desk, nothing. Crouched down and covered every inch of the room, and downstairs incase when I was fighting Big Mack it fell down the cracks in the floor, climbed on top of everything, it's nowhere.

I tried leaving the area via fast travel and coming back, thinking it might re-spawn it, nope.

Closed out of the game and came back, nope.

If I hadn't gotten a nice piece of armor off a legendary raider that mutated in that area, I would load an old spawn and try again.

Has anyone else done this mission and had the ID card just not exist anywhere?

I would love to finish the quest...

Like I said, I went upstairs, looked on the desk it's supposed to be on (in the room where Big Mack was), and it wasn't there. Unless I'm misunderstanding where you're telling me to look?

It should be there. Sometimes combat will push it around, and it can land behind the desk as well. It can sometimes be found on super mutant corpse as well, in which case, it sometimes won't be on the desk.

If you are on PC, you could use console to spawn it.

If you go to the Atomatoy HQ building downtown, you can also pick up a couple of IDs there.

Thanks, I ended us having to do that, because even searching every dead body in case someone else picked it up, as well as behind and under things incase it got blown off the table, it just want not going to be found. Went to the HQ downtown and got one.

Considering this, it has struck me as odd that a critical thing like a keycard would have free physics applied to it rather than being an activator that spawns an item in your inventory. This seems like it's inviting disaster.

I have had this happen to me on one game, the SM Master usually carries one and he didn't have it and grenades blew the other one on the desk to oblivion....

Grenades are a double edged sword like that.

I've often thought the same thing, having critical items getting knocked into hidden/unreachable places is not good, I know I lost a really good sword or something in an elder scrolls game because I got disarmed and couldn't find it again( I re-loaded), makes having anything really nice (let alone required) a bit of a pain if it's not locked down and free to fly around the room, landing between a rock and a hard to reach place.

I had the same thing for a quest in the Giddyup Buttercup factory where I was looking for 'parts' and couldn't get past a security door because I couldn't find the ID card..

many grenades were used in clearing that place btw..

Figured the quest was a bust until I found myself back in the neighborhood a few days later and the entire place had reset itself, except without any of the bad guys.

The ID card was right there on top of the desk :)

Doesn't Arlen Glass in the Slog give you one as well? Plus you can visit the HQ in downtown.

I think you have to persuade Arlen to give you one (I did)... so it's possible someone is not that persuasive. :) Definitely go to the toy factory's HQ and nose around, though, and then go BACK to Arlen (even if you have no quest to do so) and talk to him. Moving stuff.
