Fallout 4 and Quadro

Post » Sun Jan 17, 2016 10:19 pm

Hello,

I have issue with "fallout 4 has stopped working".

I have read a lot of information's and I tried many tricks, but, without any success.

Hardware: Nvidia Quadro 5100M (driver version 341.92)

Software: MS Windows 10 x64

Have you any idea how to fix it?

Thank you.

Well, that's an unsupported GPU, so to fix it I would suggest upgrading.

Is it a NVS 5100M or K 5100M.

The NVS is a dx10.1 card and is unsupported. Fallout 4 needs dx11 support.

Yeah, your card only supports DirectX 10.1.

You have to buy a new laptop because DirectX 11 is required to play Fallout 4.

If you are on a budget, then the following 15.6" Acer laptop with a Core i5-5200u, nVidia 940m and 1080p screen is selling for $490.

It should be decent enough to play FO4 on mostly medium settings at 1600x900 resolution. But you will need to disable anti-aliasing and set shadow quality to low. Special effects like Godrays should be disabled.

If you can afford $800, then the following Dell Inspiron 7559 has a quad core i5-6300HQ, nVidia 960m and 1080p screen. You should be able to play FO4 @ 1080p and high settings.

Try that. Download this: http://www.ultrabookgaming.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/dxcpl.zip

then:

1. In the "Scope" section of the window, click on the "Edit List..." button and enter the location of your Fallout 4 executable ( Fallout4.exe ), then press the "Add" button and the "Ok" button

2. In the "Device Settings" section of the window, set the "Feature level limit" to "11_0" and be sure to check "Force WARP"

3. Press Apply/OK and try the game...

It could work. Your GPU is not that fast just OK.
