Does shadow become useless?

Post » Mon Jan 18, 2016 11:33 am

I have all five sneak and muffle, and was wondering if I need shadow anymore? Should probably test this myself at some point, but was wondering if anyone has done testing and found it to be meaningless after a while?

And yes I know shadow has to do with visibility, but I am still wondering if there are some misconception or deeper understanding I can get.

It provides a flat bonus, meaning it does still help, but becomes less of a vital component

Let's pretend it adds 10 to sneak

40 + 10 makes the armor a significant boost, 20% of your total sneak power

But 990 + 10 makes the armor a lot less important, it still provides the same bonus, it just has less of an impact on it's own, 1% of your overall power/

I only use it because it looks cool on leather armor...full heavy leather armor, with BoS Officer's uniform underneath is rather slick.

Well maybe, I decided to spend the time to test it out and can find absolute no no benefit. I think I'm just gonna choose ultra light and be done. So again, with 5 stars of sneak it appears as though weight does not affect stealth at all even without muffle. Also my visibility does not appear to be affected by shadow.

The selling point is that it's cool black. lol.

Anyway, I don't assign full Sneak perk. It kills the thrill of busting a trap. That "oh [censored]" feeling and the attempt to run away from it is good.
