I just realized that whenever I dropped my stolen clothes, the text will be red and it still be marked as "STEAL" and eventually will be disliked by companions when I picking them back.


Is it supposed to be that way or my game is just broken??

I assume it's a design choice, after all you did steal the item and it is stolen.

Okay. So it's really like this in everyone's game, right?

Yes stolen items are not really,yours. So, you,have to steal them if you drop them and pick them up again.


also, if a container belongs to someone with redded out items and you put any items in it, they become property of that person/settlement and you'll have to steal them back.
