The Statue of Liberty by Ops

Post » Mon Jan 18, 2016 12:57 am

Hey guys, I have been well received by you guys here in the past, and I cannot say how much I enjoy being apart of the community. Especially the building aspects of it.

Your builds have inspired me to work hard and be creative and continue to push the limits of the game and keep building myself.

I present my proudest work yet:

Please Enjoy, and thank you so much!

Good work Ops! Inventive use of suitcases lol. How many lights did it take? She's pretty tall.

yeah i kinda rushed the cables at the end just so i could finally finished the build lol.

I was originally trying to animate the torch, but ran into too many crashing issues... so i went with flame turrets instead.

Wow! Amazing stuff! How were you able to curve the lightbox set up? When I place mine, they lock together in a straight line from 5 ft away. And where are all your generators? How many of those did you need?

Ur the first person to ask these questions lol

The lightboxes, I would build on the ground (the ground ground) in rows of 3. I would then hold square on my ps4 controller aiming at the middle lightbox, and it would select all 3 of them. I would then carry the lights, up 6 flights of stairs to the top where the statue is, and I could place the lights beside the other lights, at a slight angle, without having it snap. (this sounds more complicated than it is)

All the generators, are in the very back of the map.... hidden inside cement blocks. (I estimate about 1500 power)

Holy crap, and I consider my ability to build a cube with a bed in it an accomplishment.

This is great. :)

Are suitcases a buildable container? Because the only other method I can come up with for placing them like that is the Console, and I don't think it's that precise.

You can stack them but as a building item no, they are not a structure.

I realize they're not a structure; I was asking if they were an item that appears in the build menu, perhaps under Furniture -> Containers. If they are, that explains how he was able to position them so precisely. If they're not, then I don't know how he got them there in the first place, much less stacked them so precisely. Especially since it looks like he's on PS4, which doesn't have access to the Console.
