Gamma Gun

Post » Mon Jan 18, 2016 8:13 pm

Picked up the Zeta Gun during the Cabot House missions, then modded it to become the Gamma due to the huge upgrade in damage 10-110 increase started using it and not only is the ammo super rare but the damage to enemy seems useless, even against human enemies.

That's because it only does Radiation Damage, so it's effectiveness is only limited to human raiders that are NOT in power armor, which honestly, makes no sense, because Synths should still be vulnerable to radiation, anything that shoots out intense gamma rays is going to make electronics, no matter how sophisticated, have a death sentence.

The first time I ran into a child of Atom with one of those guns, they dispatched me ever so quickly. Donned an environment suit and those guns become akin to a spoon flicking peas.

I think the lorenzo's artifact version does pure damage. Don't quote me on that though.

I got a legendary Mutant Slayer Gamma Gun that does double radiation damage to super mutants... which means ZERO damage.

Nuclear Physicist helps a lot with the deep dish, perfect for spreading Atom's glow across the Commonwealth.

I tend to avoid weapons that deal radiation, poison, and fire damage because the full damage is not dealt instantaneously like it is with ballistic weapons. We are already hampered by stimpaks and aids that don't give us instantaneous heal. We don't need another thing hampering us during combat.

HAH Reminds me of my first time enchanting a sword in Morrowind...

...and accidentally set it to poison all targets within 1000 feet...for zero points.

In terms of Radition affecting Synths / Robots, it would only make sense that in a world filled with radiation, the electronics of something just build would be rad shielded in some way. Even RL military electronics are shield from EMP and radiation to some extent (tho how effective it would be to a nearby blast remains to e seen).

Get Lorenzo's Artifact and the Electric Mod, it suddenly becomes one of the greatest guns in the game and destroys even rad immune targets and instantly blows off limbs.

With a legendary like two-shot it's probably among the best.

I'll raise you with my Ghoul Slayer's Gamma Gun. Prepare yourselves, you undead freaks. For you shall feel my radioactive wrath yet.
